Kicking off two-day tour touting his energy policies, President Obama on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to expanding America's renewable energy sources, telling a crowd in Boulder City, Nevada that "as long as I'm president, I will not walk away from the promise of clean energy."

Mr. Obama, speaking at the Copper Mountain Solar 1 Facility in Boulder City, highlighted his administration's efforts to reduce energy on foreign oil. He also blasted his Republican rivals for approaching energy with a mentality that he cast as old-fashioned and anti-innovation.

"If some politicians had their way, there won't be any more public investments in solar energy. There won't be as many new jobs or new businesses," said Mr. Obama. "Some of these folks dismiss the promise of solar power and wind power and fuel-efficient cars. In fact, they make jokes about it. One member of Congress who shall remain unnamed called these jobs 'phony.' Called them phony jobs."

"If some politicians had their way, there won't be any more public investments in solar energy."

.... Um correct me if I'm wrong .... in a free market economy ..... isn't that decision supposed to be up to PRIVATE investors to fund businesses and not the governments responsibility to spend the taxpayers hard earned tax dollars?

Also.... in a free market economy wise investors would avoiding Solar Energy investments like the plague after seeing the massive defaults of Obama's previous snake oil solar energy successes.

Yes Mr. Obama .... some people do learn from others mistakes..... Why the heck can't you?

Received an email today from some company called Solar Savings America. Said I could get clean, reliable energy, eliminate or reduce my power bill by up to 50% and offered significant government incentives with $0 down. Hit the delete key before I could respond - shucks! Maybe next time, or not...

"If some politicians had their way, there won't be any more public investments in solar energy."

Those are the ones I'll vote for.

>> “as long as I’m president, I will not walk away from the promise of clean energy.”

There’s no such thing as “clean” energy; the “promise” is a lie.

Who ever thought the American president could be such a small, petty man?

In other words, he will not walk away from destroying my freedom, breathing his foul breath in my nose on TV and from the presidency.

That’s a cop out for parasites who claim they are working for something noble while they are bloodsucking along the way. I have seen plenty of people exploiting foster kids under these “portrayals”.
