Zimmerman says he was already on his way back to the truck when the kid attacked HIM.

I have no idea what happened, and neither do you. Why don't we wait to see what happens at trial, if there is to be a trial?

If the local prosecutor chooses not to pursue the case, (which could happen) then Holder may still have the option of bringing a Civil Rights case against Zimmerman.

This entire thread points out an interesting difference between our legal system and its English parent. In Britain, Zimmerman would never be brought to trial at this point because of the coverage given the case in the national media.

The case is being tried everywhere but in court. Which is exactly the way the Administration would prefer it until they can act.

The pictured Trayvon Martin's FB states that he is a middle school student in Chicago.

Thank you for finding that out. The last thing this investigation needs are more misrepresentations.

Apparently, Trayvon Martin is a more common name than was thought.

Exactly.

IMHO, CCW is for defensive purposes only. Or to prevent commission of a felony or protect others if a crime is being committed on them.

CCW is not a license to keep tabs on the neighborhood and question anything you don’t like.

That’s what cell phones and 911 are for.

Nor does being a neighborhood watch prohibit a licensed CWP holder from carrying, just like it doesn’t require you to. That’s the point of having a permit,it ALLOWS you to carry.

Once again, these details have been ignored or changed by the media.

1.The witness reports that George Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon is on top of him punching him.
2.The witness says that George Zimmerman was screaming and yelling for help.
3.Police arrive and find Zimmerman bleeding on his face and the back of his head. He also has had grass stains on his back. All this confirms the story told by Zimmerman and the witness.
4.Police play the 911 tape for Trayvon Martin’s father, who tells police that the voice screaming is not the voice of his son.

When someone, Zimmerman, disregards proper procedure and accosts someone, he should expect to get the crap kicked out of him by the person he accosted. He does not, under a situation he himself provoked, have a right to shoot someone who is acting in self-defense against a stranger, Zimmerman, who has accosted him. Had he not left his vehicle, none of this would have happened. The only thing more ironic here would have been for him to have been shot with his own gun as a result of his doing something he knew he was not supposed to do and which he had been told not to do.

I hope Zimmerman and his family have some sort of security.

I am not sure what to think about all this other than this is going to be the spark to set off the powder keg.

I am worried for Zimmerman and family, they deserve to be safe until all of this can be sorted out.

Though I doubt they will ever be safe, even if this is sorted out by the rule of law.

There is so much emotion forming around this that I suspect a life sentence wouldn’t satisfy—Zimmerman would be killed in prison and if there is no prison sentence, there will be blood on the streets.

A tragic case has become even more tragic. The frothing mob demands to be sated, they’ve determined guilt, no trial needed.

A couple of points

To all who seem to have a problem with neighborhood watches licensed to carry or watches in general, ask yourself this; were you for or against the Minute Men with CWPs carrying or not. Surely, they volunteered to watch over our borders to protect against suspicious/illegal behavior, and had a reasonable expectation of potential harm.

This private, gated community (of condos not houses) felt there was sufficient need for a watch due to the criminal activity that was plaguing it. They all pay association fees, so the whole property is PRIVATE property. So the stand your ground law remains in effect.

Comparing the coverage of this case with the home invasion/murder of the elderly Oklahoma couple by a young black suspect, a Google search reveals 6,704 stories about Trayvon Martin, and only 48 stories about the Tulsa crime.

I wonder why the MSM is ignoring the Tulsa story. The man (who survived) is a veteran of the 101st Airborne, and was at Normandy on D-Day. He and his wife were married for 65 years. She was sexually assaulted and killed. Horrible, horrible crime, and very little mention of it anywhere outside of the local area.

I am starting to think the treatment of Zimmerman is to try to force people to cower instead of protect themselves.

What about this story:

*snip*
A suspected child rapist is on the loose and in a statement obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement accepts responsibility for releasing him.

The man is identified by ICE as Amado Espinoza-Ramirez. Chicago police arrested him last August, and he was ultimately charged with forty-two counts of predatory sexual acts.
http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/21/ice-admits-releasing-alleged-child-rapist/

Where are the people ready to march in the streets over this? Where is the outrage and full blown coverage? This is absolutely tragic—where is the rule of law here? FORTY TWO children?

If he was afraid of Zimmerman, why didn't he just go inside?

I believe Florida has a law which covers that situation.

facts no longer matter.

guilt no longer matters.

this is only about claiming issues not solutions.

the race baiters want the issue for their own personal power.

the anti second amendment crowd wants this as their own personal effort to abolish the second amendment.

If there is no conviction then both will claim outrage and make demands.

if there is a conviction then both will demand change due to the outrage.

either way zimmerman is seriously Nifonged.

Are you serious? Does the attacker need to say "I am threatening you" for someone to feel threatened?

If someone is following my wife, at night, in a car. And then, when my wife tries to get further away, the guy gets out and follows continues to follow her. Then yes, that is a threat. That is what is said in the original "story" I posted.

Zimmerman’s actions created the situation, and that’s the crux of the entire situation, had he not decided to play wanna be cop, this situation would have never and should never have occurred. He’s going to pay a price for it, he committed manslaughter, and all the pro gun spinning in the world won’t help it.

I can understand why the cops originally did not arrest him, they did not have access to the calls or other things, but its clear in light of the overall evidence at this point, Zimmerman should be facing charges, and he will be, just now they will be being brought by states or federal atty’s instead of his local district attorney.

Arbooz knows that the picture he hunted down and posted is not of the Trayvon Martin who was killed. The picture arbooz posted is clearly identified on facebook as that of another Trayvon Martin, a middle school student from chicago.

The FB page for the murdered kid was listed right under it as Trayvon Slimm Martin. But there are no thug pictures there.

arbooz has intentionally misrepresented and slandered a dead kid. It is despicable.

The facebook page the picture came from is clearly listed as that of another Trayvon Martin - one who is a middle school student in Chicage.

the FB page for the dead kid is listed right under it - very clearly - nothing provocative at all.

I guess arbooz chose the thug picture rather than post the real thing because it fit some agenda or purpose of his.

The reports say that Zimmerman was walking back to his truck when attacked. Here is the problem: You have a black youth wearing his hoodie in hoodlum fashion stolling thorough a neighborhood that has been the victim of multiple crimes caused by black youths. He was confronted by an individual asking what he was doing there and instead of answering like a normal person he took offense and got into it. He was beating a man on the ground and the man shot him, story over!
