You assume Trayvon Martin was murdered. If he started the attack, then he was likely killed in self defense.
Exactly why does it matter one bit how much he weighed?
Because if bears on the assertion of self defense by George Zimmerman. It also bears on the credibility of his partisans. If they lied about his weight, what else are they lying about?

It has some bearing on the credibility of George Zimmerman's claim that this was a self defense shooting. We have seen much of George Zimmerman's past being brought forward as evidence of his mindset.
Exactly what does it matter if there were a number of burglaries in the community --- was Martin breaking in to a home? Was he peeping through a window? No. He wasn't. He was walking the sidewalk after buying candy.
Again, it has to do with George Zimmerman's mindset. It shows that his concerns were realistic and not paranoid.
Recent crimes committed by other blacks in other locales are just that -- crimes committed people other than Martin. They have absolutely nothing to do with Martin --- unless one wants to argue that he just paid the price for crimes that people who share his skin color committed.
True, but Martin was a stranger in the community. It is not unreasonable that he was considered suspect.
The only thing Martin was guilty of was being black in Zimmerman's neighborhood. That's why he's dead. The rest is just bullshit.
Unless he attacked George Zimmerman unprovoked, which is what George Zimmerman claimed, and which the police found to be consistent with the physical evidence.
