Casey Anthony getting baptized, wants to see Caylee in heaven
Examiner ^ | 03/22/2012 | Bruce Baker

In the latest news on Casey Anthony, the "Tot Mom" is getting baptized to ensure her salvation and to see her daughter Caylee in heaven one day. In a twist of irony, the 26-year-old reportedly alerted the media of her intentions. Recall she is serving time in an undisclosed location in Florida on check fraud after being exonerated of murdering her daughter?

Love or hate her, Anthony is back in the news. After her high-profile murder trial in the death of Caylee resulted in a not-guilty verdict, she was ordered to serve probation for one-year in the Sunshine State on unrelated charges. For protection, her defense team thought it was necessary that she kept a low-profile.

While a few Casey Anthony sightings surfaced on the Internet, she has largely been absent from the public's eye, except for a few "leaked videos online." The 26-year-old (in this photo), who was seen with a new hairdo, a new puppy, and nose bling, claims she did not authorize the release of her private "video diary."

Now, sources close to the infamous mom say she is turning a "new leaf" in her life by embracing religion.

"Casey has planned to get baptized sometime this month. Casey believes that Caylee is with God now and wants to ensure her own salvation so that she'll see her daughter again someday." ~ Inside source for RadarOnline

I can show you dozens of commandments and examples from the Bible that support Baptism.

Can you please show me just one reference to this “sinners prayer” you speak of?

Either that's poorly written, or she doesn't understand the path to salvation.

You are correct. Getting baptized will do one thing, get her wet. It is only supposed to be an outward sign of an inward conversion.

She lied from the time they first talked to her and continued to lie

So is Romney, he's a known liar! And people are voting for him. He's killing America, does anybody care?

"I can show you dozens of commandments and examples from the Bible that support Baptism."

So? Nobody here is denying there is a sacrament of Baptism. They are denying it is a prerequisite for salvation and you can't provide any convincing proof texts for that.

"Myself, I hope he throws her straight to hell. Its not for us to judge …if casey is sincere or not. Only God should judge her motives.

Go read Jonah chapter's 3 and 4.

Jonah didn't want to go to Ninevah, because he didn't want Ninevah to repent. And Jonah was angry when Ninevah did. THIS is what it means to judge. It's not simply determining whether a person is sincere or not. We actually need to do that on a limited basis, since we are instructed to "rebuke our neighbor frankly", "discern the spirits" and disassociate from people who are living a wicked lifestyle.

The prohibition on judging is on judging them as not worthy of obtaining God's mercy, like Jonah did towards the very very evil city of Ninevah, whom God still loved despite their sin.

Did you miss the term “ensure”?

Nope. In fact I'll emphasize the term

ENSURE.

Your joking right?

Romans 10:9-11 (King James Version)

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

An example of one from the mouth of Billy Graham

Heavenly Father:

I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my Sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the day’s of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus!

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Once she is baptized she will have to live a life that will embrace the Christian life style. I don’t think a leopard can change its spots but its worth the try.

Yes, God is the ultimate fair judge.

I’ve often thought about if I make it to heaven and there are many people that I love that didn’t make it there, how would I feel?

I think that when we make it to heaven we will not be sad about it, because we will understand that our God is the ultimate fair judge.

"Wasn’t necessary. He lived and died under the Law."

That makes no sense at all. If he died under the law then he would go to hell not be with Jesus in paradise - he admitted he was guilty of the crime for which he was being executed and deserved to die. His repentence and acknowledgement of Jesus for who he was is what obviously got him into paradise. He was saved under the New Covenant which Jesus had instituted the night before.

No, Im not joking. First of all, that scripture is very valid as part of the sinner’s path to salvation. But to call that a “Sinners Prayer” shows a lack of understanding in how to obtain salvation. There is more to it that that.

And to think that praying a “Sinners Prayer” results in being saved is even more ludicrous.

Billy Graham might be sincere with this incomplete doctrine, but he is sincerely (and Biblically) wrong.

-—That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.——

But this single verse must be reconciled with all of Scripture. Including these verses:

James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Abraham, Moses and the Prophets also died under the law. But they are in Heaven - why? Because of the grace that was made available to all due to Christ’s death on the cross.

And the thief died and was saved BEFORE the fulfillment of the Law. Just like Abraham, Moses and the Prophets.

He was NOT saved under the New Covenant which Jesus had instituted the night before. Read Acts 1 and 2. Only AFTER the death, burial and resurrection (Pentecost) did Salvation come to all who believed that Jesus rose from the dead and then repented and were baptized (Acts 2:38).

This debate is hundreds of years old so I doubt we will settle it here, but I disagree. Baptism is a response to salvation, not a means of salvation.

"Abraham, Moses and the Prophets also died under the law. But they are in Heaven - why? Because of the grace that was made available to all due to Christ’s death on the cross."

Thus you are saying the only difference between salvation under the old and new covenants is the added requirement of baptism under the new covenant. I don't buy that at all.

Beat me to it. One or the other of them, or both, doesn’t understand that baptism is an outward sign, not a magic potion.
