Mutilated corpse is left on display for rival cartel members in Nuevo Laredo [Mexico]
KGNS ^ | March 19, 2012

The body, along with a banner, was discovered early Monday morning at Reforma and Paseo Colon in Nuevo Laredo.

According to reports, the victim, in his twenties, had been tortured and beaten severely.

He was tied and bound, and his arms and legs were cut off, then he was beheaded.

The banner included a message from the zetas for any rival cartels, saying the victim's fate would be the same for anyone considering coming into their territory.

This discovery comes after another violent weekend across the border in Nuevo Laredo, with several shootouts in the streets and more people being killed.

And Obammy let’s his kids vacation in Mexico. Regardless of the secret service....You would think that a president would keep his kids from that place.

The thing that always gets me about these stories.

The Cartels are fueled by one thing and one thing only - American dollars.

And American dollars come from one place and one place only - illegal drug use by Americans.

Ssh - listen. You can almost hear a pin drop.

The lamestream media will go on and on about violence in Mexico, about guns from here being used for crime, about how we have to “reevaluate” our immigration policies. But where is the story that starts out with, “hey you morons, you and your illegal drug use are destroying a nation and is the actual fuel of this!”

Don't hold your breath.

The news doesn’t say enough that Laredo (Texas) and Nuevo Laredo (Mexico) are effectively West and East Berlin, separated by a river instead of a wall.

And in this case the crappy side is winning.

Think about the atrocities that we don’t hear about. American and European journalists go to Afhanistan and Syria, but they won’t set foot in Mexico.

The Cartels make money from smuggling drugs and illegal immigrants. People who hire and encourage illegal immigration are just as guilty as the people who buy drugs smuggled from Mexico.

“The Cartels make money from smuggling drugs and illegal immigrants.”

Wetback to this side = $1500, Shoebox of uncut cocaine to this side = $20,000.

End all the illegal immigration tomorrow (and I'm all for it) and it wouldn't make a dimes worth of difference. The drugs bring the money, the money is the fuel, and WE ARE the source.

For whatever reason, we don't want to get serious about stopping drug use. And as long as we don't, Mexico will continue to disintegrate. Hell, the cartels already run the government.

I talked with someone recently who still has family there. One relative worked in a small shop of some sort. Armed robbers came in and demanded all their money. They were given everything in the cash register but the amount apparently was not satisfactory. So they had the woman behind the register (the relative) put both her hands on the countertop. One of the robbers proceeded to smash both her hands with a rifle butt.

I supposed she is lucky to still be alive, at that.

I remember early in the Bush years his administration took out an ad -- IIRC on the Super Bowl -- pointing out the connection between U.S. drug use and narco-terrorism.

I remember the shrieks about how unfair it was including on FR.

“I remember the shrieks about how unfair it was including on FR.”

Drug abuse is an equal opportunity scourge.

More prevalent on the liberal and poor side of things, but present in EVERY walk of life.

For my money, begin a real war on its use, or legalize it. What we are doing now is a complete and utter failure.

And as we debate that issue, it would do no harm to begin communicating that subsidizing the destruction of other people's countries is immoral, and that's what one is likely doing when one buys drugs.
