Why do I have the suspicion that the school system is just covering for the teacher and is perfectly fine with what he did? Clicking all the way through to the more detailed article revealed that the county went 60% for Obama vs. 39% for McCain.

Denman should have been fired. (In other jurisdictions, he'd have gotten far worse.) As it is, this is Fairfax County, Virginia - a money-sotted, center-left bedroom community for the D.C. power establishment. He'll probably get a raise before it's all over with.
