The Sanford Neighborhood Watch volunteer who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, did not instigate the encounter but has received death threats and moved out of his home, his father told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday.
George Zimmerman, 28, has not been arrested, something that has put him and the Sanford Police Department at the center of a firestorm. Critics say Trayvon, who was visiting family from his home in Miami, was a victim of racial profiling.
Zimmerman's father, 64-year-old Robert Zimmerman of Lake Mary, delivered a one-page letter to the Sentinel on Thursday, saying that the depiction of his son in the media has been cruel and misleading.
George Zimmerman is Hispanic and grew up in a multiracial family, the statement says.
"He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever ...," the letter says. "The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth."
The letter does not provide details about what happened Feb. 26 on a walkway in the gated community where George Zimmerman lives and where Trayvon was visiting. But it does challenge one basic assumption of the family's lawyers: that Zimmerman's intent when he got out of his sport utility vehicle was to confront Trayvon after calling police to report a suspicious person.

I too questioned the events regardless of the news source. I have been reading and reading and talked with some cops I know about what inner office skuttle butt is on this and I’ve been hearing a lot of things that are either not reported in the media (FOX news included) or misstated in the very same media. They have been quoting the eye witness incorrectly according to the police report I read and they have been all over the map on excluding known facts that the police have given to them. The meida seems to only want the parents views reported. Oh and those of Al Sharpton too.
So, tell me, why did Zimmerman say "111" ~ then change his story to "club house'?
Do you know where the club house is? I do.
Come back with a response to the whole deal ~ without cherry picking.
THE witness is being quoted “incorrectly” ~ ? ON the video? ~ you haven’t researched this very much have you.

But all the info you gave was setup for your payoff-the likely route of Martin. Relying on Google Earth to make your main point is why I “Cherry picked” it. It kind of blows your summation of the preceding points.

Wrong! Arrests aren't based on probable cause, they're based on whether, or not there's a case in hand. At this point there's loose ends to tie up. The case will be presented to the grand jury. The grand jury will make the determination of whether the racist will face charges and what charges they might be, and it will convene on April 10.
Funny how that works, isn't it? You didn't know that La Raza refers to the "white race"?
You haven’t been reading what some major news reports have been saying regarding the “witness accounts” then if you think they are spot on.
On a few reports they went to say the eye witness was quoted as saying that Zimmerman was never on the ground and that Martin was the one screaming for help. This statement shows that the media is misquoting the witness.
Or do you consider this a honest accounting from what the witness said on video?

That all may well be true - but I am concerned with the circumstances behind this particular case.
Prior bad acts do not concern current acts in question - if that were true, we would ALL be in jail.
The way the Stand Your Ground Act is currently written, Zimmerman was apparently [technically] within the law. It was originally written to cover only deadly force on one's own property - but was expanded to cover ANY area. That is the fault of the legislature.
If Zimmerman had a reasonable concern for his safety, then he was well within his rights to shoot.
As for his intimidation and carrying a firearm in violation of HOA rules, they can kick him off the Neighborhood Watch and/or out of the community entirely - if their rules allow it.

Going beyond that there's this question of THE CELL PHONE. The lawyer has what he claims is a total phone log from the telephone company. He's waiting on the cops to get one too. In the meantime you can imagine he's faking it, or not. I Don't think he's faking it since he should be able to get such a report on behalf of the heir to the estate.
The cops seemed to have done nothing with the cellphone to find out who the kid was. Maybe you have some hard info on that ~ if so, show us where it's at. So, at the moment it's probably safe to say the cops didn't find the cellphone on the kid.
Now, who has that cellphone? Is it the cops, the undertaker, the family, Zimmerman perhaps?
Maybe that thing he had in his hand was a cellphone and he was taking a picture of Zimmerman ~ Hmm.
So many suppositions are possible and that's over just the cellphone.
The idea the cops didn't recover the cellphone is highly suggested by the fact they tagged Martin out as a John Doe (Unknown body).

There are two ladies in the community who give a different report. They complain(ed) in the last piece I saw on them that the cops have not yet interviewed them.
That could be why you haven't seen a formal statement from them.
NOW, what is it you want to know about the witnesses?
