“He is married to the same person and has 5 kids!”

So f....g what.
We are not electing “The best husband of the year”, but the presidential candidate.

A man who changes his “convictions” as often as his socks, doesn’t deserve the nomination.

Conservatives have a reputation for eating their own

DON'T put romney is the CONSERVATIVE column! Got it? You KNOW NOTHING about conservatism!

And his PRO HOMO, PRO ABORTION, anti-traditional marriage, appointing liberal judges, demanding Catholic hospitals to succumb to liberal views, big gov't socialistic healthcare - and used as template for obamacare - is NOT the GOP platform.

Get that through your head, you socialist! That lying POS will NEVER get my vote - no matter how you try or the media and GOP E tries to clean him up! He lied and bought his way through so far with media and GOP E support - because HIS RECORD screams of liberalism! NOT everyone is duped and live in fear like you.

'Anyone but Obama' was designed for HIM!! To instill fear and it got you along with he's the only one that defeat Obama. HE'S GOT NOTHING TO BEAT HIM WITH!! You've been manipulated like putty with their rhetoric.

Santorum is not a wonderful candidate, he’s a social conservative big government “compassionate conservative” who does not have the mental capacity or oratory skill to not drop verbal land mines that will make him look completely unacceptable to the swing voters.

He will be evicerated in a general election, just like he was in PA in 06 with sound bite after sound bite of him saying things that make him look like a monster and he will be rejected just as badly as he was in 06.

The play book that took him down in 06 will work exactly as well in in 12 because nothing about him has changed.

I will vote for the nominee whoever it is, but Sanorum has ZERO chance of winning a national election.

I know.

Sorry for the confusion.
I was addressing his words, not to you personally.
I should have made that clear in my post.

No need to be sorry - I figured that but wanted it known they were HIS words when asked what was his contribution to the conservative cause.

Not trying to defend Romney, but the truth is try running for dog catcher up here in parts of the northeast as a Republican. If you even use the word conservative, you'll lose by more then 20%. In a couple of small towns around here, we have conservative “democrat” mayors because a group of republicans banded together, changed party affiliation, and voted in the democrat caucus for the conservative republican “turned democrat”. Some may say this isn't right or is unethical, but it was live under a small town dictatorship or take some unorthodox action. As you can see, the democrats were so stupid they were just voting for the “D”, didn't even know who the candidate was. Every other article on Free republic is about how horrible Obama is. If we can win both houses, and Romney picks a decent VP, I would vote for him. We will hold his feet to the fire. I believe his appointments, the people he surrounds himself with, etc would be far better then 4 more years of Obama.

I am struggling with how to cast my vote if Romney gets the nomination, while praying Newt finds a way through Divine Providence to pull out a victory in a brokered convention.

As several have eloquently stated, it’s waaay past time for the GOP-E to reap the rewards of their actions in perpetually skewing the primary process toward the moderate squish candidate that is “next-in-line” (Dole, McCain, now Romney).

The nation is at a critical junction. Without drastic spending cuts, departmental eliminations (Energy, Education, EPA, NLRB, etc.), wholesale cleaning out of career lib/progressives in State, Defense, etc.), reigning in of the Federal Reserve and Federal Judiciary, our economy is toast, our new job production remains anemic, and our freedoms will continue to erode.

Newt is the ONLY candidate I see willing to make “big” ideas like the above part of his policies, which he has reams of documentation on implementing at his web site.

Romney & Santorum will just take us off the cliff at a slower speed than the dems.

I seriously may go third party or write-in if Romney gets the Republican nod. His record as a conservative is simply abhorent, especially in the promotion of the homosexual agenda. His refusal to debate on conservatie issues/ideals/vision in the various primaries, instead opting to smear his opponents with lies and half-truths, simply should not be rewarded. If these tactics succeed, then there is truly no remaining discernable difference between the dem/progressive party and the GOP-E.

W. Bush set back the conservative cause a couple of decades simply because he refused to draw a bright line between conservative and lib/progressive policies, with the exception of FINALLY taking it to the terrorists, but then he mucked that up with his “nation-building” proclivities.

Obama has done more to energize the conservative, patriotic, constitutional base than any moderate candidates the GOP-E has proferred in the last 15 years.

Perhaps another 4 years of Obama is what is required to get the entire voting public energized and behind a true conservative, constitutional alternative.

God help us all if this is true, but I can’t see a moderate making enough of a difference in our national trajectory to justify holding my nose and voting for them. Especially as it will fuel the MSM/progressive/dem meme that the conservatives are the cause of the coming misery.

Let the dems/MSM/progressives and GOP-E own the coming financial disaster lock, stock, and barrel.

By April 24th, we will know results of LA, MD, DC, WI, CT, DE, NY, PA & RI. That is a total of 401 delegates.

Romney has 497, Santorum has 183, Newt has 135 Committed delegates according to Wiki.

If Santorum wins 50% of delegates through April 24th, he will have 183+.50x401 =384 delegates.

If Romney wins 30% of delegates through April 24th, he will have 497 + .30x401= 617 delegates.

After April 24th, there are 796 delegates remaining to be won.

Santorum needs to win (1144-384)/796 x 100 = 95.5% of remaining delegates to get to 1144.
Mathematically possible, in reality, impossible.

Romney needs to win (1144-617)/796 x 100 = 66% of remaining delegates. Mathematically possible, in reality improbable.

Conclusion? We are going to a brokered convention. And that convention is highly unlikely to pick a 2nd place winner. So if Romney does not get it, it will be some one else from the sidelines.

I am not a Romney fan, believe it or not. The past 2 weeks have shown me the handwriting on the wall.
I voted for Newt in our primary. I always vote my beliefs first and then have to fall in line with the nominee.

I truly wish we could all learn from this year and work harder than ever to support conservatives locally and let the cream rise to the top.
Please don’t vote for Obama by going 3rd party. That is his divide and conquer plan. He is really using all of Saul Alinsky’s rules for Radicals.
He pits poor against rich, worker against boss, black against white, women against men. Now children against parents in food choices. He is evil in so many ways.

He uses ridicule against anyone who stands up to him. Remember lipstick on a pig? We must do all we can to rid the WH of this vile man.
I pray that all voters will weigh the consequences of their vote and do what is best for the country. I really don’t think this country can survive another 4 years of Obama.

I agree, he is not my first choice either, actually not even 2nd but I can see the handwriting on the wall.

This country cannot survive another 4 yrs of Obmama.
Yes, we can hold his feet to the fire and get out and support the tea party activities more. We all need to sacrifice a little to make a conservative movement that will have a better candidate next time.

Gee Hamilton Jay, how did you hone that skill, ie predicting the future? And who made you an authority on Santorum or anyone else?

You don’t know that he’ll be eviscerated...more likely your guy, Romney, will be the one taking the beating.
Got control issues, HJ? Glad I’m not your wife.

You Santorum haters are so tiresome. Why don’t you get up off your mother’s couch, wipe the oatmeal from your chins and go to work for your candidate...whoever that loser might be?

Are we mad that Santorum has spanked Newt out of the race? Nobody is voting for that corrupt Nancy Pelosi lovin’ gas bag and Paul is actually crazy, so that only leaves Santorum or Romney take your pick.

I suspect you would rather see Romney win because you can’t stand the fact that Santorum is the guy that sent Newt packing back to the land of multi-million dollar consulting fees from corrupt Democrat financial organizations.
