Several key White House offices were involved with the Obama administrations messaging plans and other preparations as the collapse of the taxpayer-backed solar company Solyndra was imminent, newly released documents show.
The latest White House documents delivered to House Republicans on Friday again highlight the extent to which senior administration officials braced for the fallout as Solyndra a company President Obama had personally visited was about to go under.
A White House memo that noted the danger of imminent bankruptcy at the end of August 2011 says, OMB, DPC and NEC have been working with press and OLA to be prepared for this news to break.
Acronym translation: OMB is the Office of Management and Budget, DPC is the Domestic Policy Council, NEC is the National Economic Council and OLA is the Office of Legal Affairs.
The document, an update on Solyndras $535 million Energy Department (DOE) loan guarantee, notes that $527 million had been disbursed and that DOE believed no more funds should be alloted.
The White House document notes that the Treasury Department, OMB and other White House offices agreed that no more money should be provided because there was a near-zero chance" that the company could survive.
The company collapsed at the end of August 2011 and filed for bankruptcy in early September. The Hill has reported previously on the administration decision not to attempt a last-ditch financial rescue.
White House internal communications during the company's final days include an email about a planned meeting to discuss Solyndra on August 29, 2011. Heather Zichal, a senior energy policy aide, and Deputy OMB Director Jeffrey Zients were slated to brief other officials.

So predictable.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
It just depends on what the definition of “per se” is and whether anyone cares to understand the facts.

What the hell were they fussing over?
With 24/7 full-court press cover from their staunch allies in the CommieMedia, and an electron-balled Republican party, what do they have to worry about?
Democrats routinely engage in scandals many times the magnitude of piddly Watergate, and no one says a word.
Soooo....who in the PRESS were they working with???
“working with press”.
I’m sure...
It’s always campaigning with this guy, on the taxpayer dime. How many federal employees’ salaries were wasted trying to get the “messaging” right on this Obama failure, and how is that not a violation of campaign finance laws?
‘OMB, DPC and NEC have been working with press’-—
figures of the corrupt, lapdog, slobbering media.
Golly, about 6 weeks ago I saw Chris Matthews introducing Wasaman-Schultz for a segment on somethingorother greenie I guess.
In his inimitable forced fashion he prefaced that the Koch brothers were funding forces behind pressure on Solyndra.
i am NOT making this up.
Giving $billions to useless companies is the way Ohaha is financing his relection. Solyndra's electronic activities should be scrutinized to see what offshore banking havens they wired corporate money.
========================================================
REFERENCE Os road shows are deliberately contrived to gull the citizenry. Ohaha wants Americans to believe he just happened to drop by the WH for a spell....and doesn't have anything to do with the economic debacle he created. His stupid SOU speech was designed to dupe the public---- sounding like "he just took office" in January 2011 with a Republican congress and that 2008 (with a Republican POTUS and Republican congress) screwed everything up.
Therefore Ohaha couldn't fix EVERYTHING with the Republican congress blocking all his GREAT ideas. NO MENTION of the years Democrats controlled everything---and nothing got done---unless you count Congress getting rich on insider info (/snix).
=========================================
In a fair accounting, President Obama is responsible (along with the then-Democratic Congress) for the $1.3 trillion in deficit spending in 2010 and the estimated $1.6 trillion in deficit spending in 2011. He [Obama] should not get credit, moreover, for the $149 billion in TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) repayments made in 2010 and 2011 to cover most of the $154 billion in bank loans that remained unpaid at the end of the 2009 fiscal yearloans that count against President Bushs 2009 deficit tally.
The Treasury Department says that all but $5 billion of the TARP bank loans has now been repaid. The portion of repayments that was for loans issued in 2009 should be deducted from Bushs deficit tally, not credited to Obama as deficit savings. There is some astounding number crunching in this article, and a chart of modern day presidents average annual deficit spending ........a frightening conclusion of what happens if Obama has an 8 year term.
