Cessna To Develop A Plan To Build Business Jets In China Its joint venture with the state-owned Aviation Industry Corp. of China lays the groundwork for Cessna to become the first U.S. aircraft maker to manufacture business jets in the nation.

Reporting from Beijing— In the latest sign of China's rising importance in the global aviation industry, Cessna Aircraft Co. said it would develop a plan to build business jets with the state-owned Aviation Industry Corp. of China.
The announcement paves the way for Cessna of Wichita, Kan., to become the first U.S. aircraft maker to manufacture business jets in China, the fastest-growing market for the multimillion-dollar planes.
"We believe China represents a significant opportunity for growth," said Scott Donnelly, chief executive of Cessna's parent company, U.S. conglomerate Textron Inc., at a signing ceremony Friday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Plans for the joint venture, which includes a partnership with the city of Chengdu in western Sichuan province, call for setting up a manufacturing base to build existing Cessna aircraft models. In the next phase, the company would help develop China's first business jet to be sold abroad.
It's "intended to be a global product and one we would take around the world," Donnelly said.

So how many Cessna owners who have complained about jobs going to China will now boycott Cessna purchases?
This is why the Left refuses to do anything about illegal immigration and even legal immigration: the immigrants since 1965 have been overwhelmingly non-white.
They prefer that the jobs go to non-whites, because it's "just retribution" against whitey.
Race is everything to the Left. Everything.
Not just nominally. Anything goes when it comes to building Communism, to Communists.
Federal regulations have just about killed the small aircraft industry here in the US.
Once the chicoms take over our aircraft industry, game over.

It’s because the new CEO came from GE.
Obama attacks corporate aircraft and corporate aircraft manufacturers move away. Businessmen are always smarter than politicians and when politicians make it tough to do business here, they simply do business elsewhere.
It's not "free trade", it's "foreign trade".
The United States are their own free trade area. Trade is free among the several States, but not necessarily to the world.
So when we need things that are foreign, that's when it makes sense that they be duty free. But IF that's not the case, then the game is played within the boundaries of the home field: witness South Carolina wooing Boeing away from Washington State.
Remember when they said that free trade would result in us doing all the high value added jobs, and the squat labor of the "developing" world would do the boring, simple stuff?
Total lie. They knew that once places like China developed, they would never buy anything from us. They're ethnic nationalists, the idea of buying anything from us nauseates them.
So, uh....let them buy and sell to themselves. There's a billion and a half of them. That's a nice big market. If they can't organize themselves to pull that off...so what. Isn't our problem.
It makes perfect sense to build aircraft for the Chinese market in China. If they make any number of them at all it would be costly and silly to fly each one across the Pacific for delivery.
I work with someone who is from South Korea and we talked about the free trade agreement between the US and South Korea. And he gave me the South Korean view point. He felt it was bad for South Korea because it would destroy family farms in South Korea. And, he was critical of wealthy families who owned companies like Hyundai and it benefited them. On the Korean side, companies like Hyundai and Samsung pushed for the free trade agreement at the expense of family farms.
On the American side, it was the agriculture industry at the expense of manufactueres. If Americans didn't want the FTA with South Korea, it wouldn't have happned. But here we are, the US/South Korea FTA is now in affect. And because, the American agricultural industry pushed for it along with South Korean manufacturers.
And it is true with trade with China. The agricultural industry in the US pushed for trade with China. And, in order for China to join the WTO, it signed off on it. Wish put alot of Chinese farmers of the farm, and into cities, which suppressed labor even further. And as a result, manufactured goods flood into the US.
In the end, every country plays a part in deepening trade, wanting to get something out of it. Trade with China isn't some liberal global feel good experiment, but rather, a deliberate push by industry within the US to expand Chinese trade and benefit.
