The race has come down to Rick or Etch A Sketch now, Gingrich had a good week for him while the 2 others had missteps. But he has little pressure now.

My family and close relatives in Louisiana are all voting for Newt. I have been reminding all my friends to get out and vote for Newt on Saturday. All we can do now is pray.

Let's see you mean etch a sketch rick ( didn’t say, may as well vote for obama/something like that) or the original etch a sketch mittens (who is an empty suit can change after nomination) obama sure is having a good year. I am getting prepared obama may win. I heard 2 dems say today-obama is prepared to do whatever it takes to win re election-just be prepared everyone. I hope this goes to convention since people are not getting all of rick's or mitt's records and when one or both do implode. (ps. if rick wins la-I will be convinced there are some really uniformed voters in la to go for a guy who voted against right to work and the other who is a liberal-unrealistic reasoning)

Would that be the same Rick that said he’d rather have Obama than Mitt.
No thanks.

Well, the question at this point is, would you rather have Rick or Mitt? Secondly, that was not the intent of his comments, and he has since said, because people misunderstood what he was saying, that he would vote for Mitt over Obama.

Best way to get Newt is to block Romney. Best way to block Romney is Rick in La.

Do you not see this?

Rick Santuckabee, election spoiler, incessant talker with zero substance or intellectual ability, going absolutely nowhere.

The very least he could do now is help to force a BC.

Friend, you are right on the money. Both Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich could have, and, should have won the POTUS nomination. The both suffer severely from foot-in-mouth-disease, big time. What a shame. Both lack the maturity and temper control to be the USA POTUS, as does “hate America” Obama!!!

I think Freepers who rant and rave about Santorum & Gingrich are living in Never-Never land. Romney was far from our best candidate, but.....he is left standing with the votes. My hope: Romney/Rubio, an absolute must!!! Voting for Gingrich or Santorum is now a wasted vote, IMHO!!! The truth may hurt, and you may not like it, but....the truth is still the truth!!! Fact is: Obama must be defeated, or you can kiss a free USA goodbye forever!!! That’s the facts of life, folks!!!

Hey Steelers6, get a load of all these "Santorum supporters" who are coming suddenly out of the woodwork on FR one after another to feign "concern" about Rick, all the way ranging up to saying they "were" for Santorum until now but are pulling their support. LOL. Yet, not a few of these names have not been on a single pro-Santorum thread in favor of him on FR (you and I know the names), nor do many of them show any Santorum support if you go way back into their posting histories. I think that is pathetic with some of these if not downright disingenous and dishonest. It's fun to watch them though. What a bunch of gnats and trolls. I can take a Newt supporter who has been vocal and unwavering and open about it, but these new "anti-Santorum" shills are really something to behold.

I also see a lot of closet Romney supporters now getting a little more bold in standing up for him, having said nothing in favor of him openly in the past, but I guess somehow now judging the time to be right.

Lots of people praying on all sides of this today.

Let's see what HIS answer is about it, in just a few more hours.

Gingrich has no chance to win the nom een if he won LA.

Santorum has a tiny chance to win the nom, looking less likely each day.

But only with Santorum winning more states and delegates is there ANY chance of a split convention. Or any mandate or kingmaker ship for Newt.

In LA, we could hurt Rom-mentum coalescing around Santorum and denying mitt the delegates, but only if ONE candidate gets over 50%.

Splitting the non Rom vote HELPS Romney collect delegates.

I’ve seen that too.

Mark Levin cleared up yesterday what Santorum actually said. It was 100% percent.

Most of the Newt supporters are hypocrits that failed math class. Because of proportional allocation in the Southern states, Romney WILL get to 1,144 before the convention.

Subscribing to the lunacy that somehow Newt is taking delegates from Romney is beyond logical, yet despite NO evidence to support it, the fanatical Newt supporters keep spreading the same false brokered convention lie.

If people actually did their homework with the statistics, rather than shoot their mouths off, they would clearly see the truth behind Newt staying in serves no purpose other than to protect Romney and boost Newt’s ego.

You can look at ANY EXIT POLL from ANY of the states that have occurred. When you look at the voting Demographics of Newt voters (Primarily Males, Ages 25-50, Make less than 100K, Rural, Support Tea Party, Conservative, Possibly Religious) those demographics almost exactly match Santorum’s voters with the exception that Santorum gets more supporters in each of those categories and far more women and Evangelicals.

Yet, Romney’s base includes (Women, Seniors, Hispanics, Moderates, Urban-Subruban Voters, Moderate/Lib/RINOs, People that think he looks the part, Income Earners over 100K). Where is the overlap between Rick/Newt’s supporters and Mitt’s? The simple answer is THEIR ISNT ONE. If Newt were really doing serious damage to Romney, he would be winning or doing at least respectable in ANY of these Romney base categories. But the simple fact is HE ISN’T.

State by state results proves this. Newt is NOT hurting Romney or slowing him down, he is simply depriving Santorum of voters. Continued across the remaining Southern States where Santorum can’t get 50% of the vote, Newt will allow Romney to pick up enough proportional delegates to allow him to clinch the nomination before the convention.

It’s that simple. The Evidence is on my side. The Newt supporters have no math or statistical data to back up their claims. If this were any other candidate on FR, Newt would CLEARLY be labeled a stalking horse.

Go ahead, proove me wrong. I dare you (Newt Supporters).

Oh, and one last thing on this fallacy that “Democrats” are voting for Santorum.

Ahem, the 2008 Alabama Primary Results for Huckabee, McCain, and Romney
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#AL

And the 2012 Alabama Primary Results for Santorum, Gingrich, and Romney
http://www.cnn.com/election/2012/primaries/state/al

Where “exactly” did these “Democrats” in AL vote for Santorum? When you look at the map, it’s clear that Santorum won virtually everwhere Huckabee did, and that Gingrich carried vritually everywhere that McCain did. If you try to say that “Democrats” in Northern Alabama voted for Santorum, you might want to check out the County by County comparisons in Northern Alabama between how Bush did and how John McCain did. This was one of the few places in 2008 that McCain outperformed Bush and that in several places, Obama failed to match even Kerry’s vote total. So if Democrats in Northern AL did vote for Santorum, highly likely they are voting GOP in the General Election.

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/AL/

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/individual/#mapPAL

These are the facts.

Again. Proove me wrong. I dare you.

I voted about 11:00 this morning.

Newt is my preference but the most important thing is for the RINO Romney to loose and loose big. Based on that I voted for Rick.

For what it worth and for all the flaming I will get from the RINO’s here “There is absolutely no way this Pro-Life Conservative will vote for Romney in November”.
