Zimmerman was on his phone when attacked.
Yea it was stupid to follow a suspect but he did. He then lost the suspect and was heading back to his vehicle. He was confronted and attacked. When he was on the ground getting his butt kicked he drew his weapon and fired once firing the fatal shot.
Zimmerman is Hispanic. He has black family members. He and his wife were in a big brother program to two black children.
Media is using this to stir up black voters for the presidential race. They need a motivated base and huge turn out. This is an excuse for $harpton to raise money as well.
He apparently did not have a criminal record, but he had been suspended for tardiness. From USAToday:
“However, he had recently been suspended from school for five days for tardiness, his English teacher, Michelle Kypriss, told the Orlando Sentinel.”
As I said, I’m not accusing either, but merely making the point that whatever either did previously, the law says we don’t consider the past when judging a particular case. What’s most important is what happened, or didn’t happen, on the night in question.
