THE Liberal National Party is on track for a landslide win in Queensland, with Labor to be left with 10 or fewer seats, an exit poll shows.
The poll, for the Nine Network, gives the LNP 63 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, to Labor's 37 per cent.
That's a 13 per cent swing against the Bligh Labor government, leaving it with 10 or fewer seats in the 89-seat parliament.
The LNP's primary vote was put at 51 per cent to Labor's 26 per cent, with Katter's Australian Party on 11 per cent. Former Labor premier Peter Beattie said the result was "an absolute shocker" for the party.
"It will mean the Labor party will spend years in the wilderness, it will probably take about 15 years to rebuild," Mr Beattie told the network.
Mr Beattie said Labor would be left with 10 seats.
"These figures are just horrific," he said.

At the moment it looks like the 89 seat Parliament will wind up as something on the lines of 73 Liberal National, 3 Bob Katter's Australia Party, 3 independents, and 10 Labor.
It's an electoral wipe out for Labor - to go from 51 seats at the last election to about ten now. It looks like conservatives have achieved about double the Labor vote.
I’ve been on the Gold Coast for the past year and people are fed up. I’m excited (even though I can’t vote)
What Labor do to cause such a big shift?
A: A Tarago has more seats
That’s good! Also, so far it looks like the Greens have zero seats.
Granted you can’t vote, but when voiced in logic, you opinions do have an effect. Use analogies to provide examples.
Yeeehaaaa!
Liberals/National aren’t free marketers in Australia, they’re socialist
I’ve been watching the Ninemsn, ABC & Sky live-steaming since the polls closed. Congrats to the Queensland LNP and a special shout-out to USMC veteran Michael Pucci who won the Logan seat by a big margin.
Congrats Nat and all Aussies...hope you get National elections soon and send your commie party to the dustbin!
By what definition?
I think they lied about not instituting a carbon tax, among other things.
