My take from this interview: We're religious bigots, can't read between the lines of his "careful" campaign or just can't like him in the primary because of his past positions; but he'll have us in the general because he will have eliminated candidates we preferred over him and he will be running against Obama.

And about this remark:

Romney hasn’t ignored this part of the Republican base. He has appeared at Tea Party events, he is a regular on conservative talk radio, and he has courted their leaders.

Romney avoided MANY conservative forums. And when he does appear, his "courting" is about as vacuous and meaningless as this interview.

..but one thing I can assure you is that the one group that will certainly be with me in the general election if I’m the nominee will be conservatives and very conservatives. Because they’re certainly not going to vote for Barack Obama.”

Hey, bub, what makes you think that we're going to vote for YOU either?

This is one "severe Conservative" who will not be voting for Obamney or Robama under any circumstance.

Why can't we form the Momma Grizzly party and get Sarah Palin on the ballot?

Myth Romney, saying anything he can to win the nomination. Next, we’ll hear how he’s the second coming of Thomas Jefferson.

Sounds like the etch-a-sketch campaign strategy. Conservatives can be taken for granted. We must try to get the support of the liberals and the MSM.

Romney is a knee jerk liberal pretending to be a hard line conservative.

The bottom line is that he is a compulsive liar. You can’t believe a word he says.

“Romney hasn’t ignored this part of the Republican base. He has appeared at Tea Party events, he is a regular on conservative talk radio, and he has courted their leaders.”

Having previously ignored these affairs and Conservatives in general, he started inviting himself to Tea Party events, right after Newt went up in the polls.

Typical liberal linear thinking. Hey, genius, you destroy all our candidates with your slime machine, take us for granted, and paint us into a corner arrogantly assuming we'll choose A over B. Did it ever occur to you that we'll choose C? FUMR.

I guess he forgot that some of us might ditch him for the Libertarian candidate.

Why do I have a sick feeling that when Romney says he wants to cut government, it means that he “wants to cut the *rate* of government growth”?

That is so sickeningly hypocritical that they might as well say, “It’s not abortion if they just take off the fetuses head.”

This article puts the finger on it. I want a list. I want to hear the candidate say which agencies have got to go. We all know which ones they are. Its not that hard Mitt. Just say it. EPA, Energy, Educ, for starters. Newt has no problem saying it.

LOLOL!!! Romney is a stealth conservative... is the point of this article, I guess. I just have one question for the Romney supporters:

If Romney can’t campaign on conservative ideals and still win the Presidential election, what makes them think he can govern as a conservative and get re-elected?

A friend told me: if you’re sitting at a poker table and you can’t figure out who the patsy is most likely you’re the patsy.

This is something one of his campaign pukes said a week or two ago, as well .... it seems to be a theme he's putting out there for the Left and MOR yellow-stripers, "don't worry, I'm just abusing these designated rapees on the Right, they have nowhere to go but lick my shoetops for me anyway."

He's making LOTS of friends on the right, saying this crap before the convention (or even after it -- or ever).
