Bullcrap. He was far beyond the scope of behavior acceptable for a neighborhood watch. They have no business getting into confrontations. Especially when the crime is that he just doesn’t recognize the guy strolling down the sidewalk,,, and he already has the cops on the way.
That kid had every right to punch some guy like that in the nose. Some guy not in uniform comes out with a gun? Maybe threw kid thought that his best chance was to fight for his life.
I cannot understand how many here think a person must cooperative, compliant, and forthcoming with wannabe cop neighborhood watches. If challenges like this happened to half the people here, they would be popping a critical vessel. They often even hate being questioned by actual cops,,, much less some goober who needs a hobby and a girlfriend.

“That kid had every right to punch some guy like that in the nose.”

You aren’t a lawyer, are you.

If I attacked everyone I thought was a jerk, I’d never make it to work...

Your post is pure BS!

Why did that neighborhood have a neighborhood watch that was so proactive in the first place?

Because they have had trouble in the past!

Why would someone feel that they needed a CC permit and actually carry one while patrolling?

Because they have had trouble in the past!

For neighborhood watch to go to the extent of calling 911, and then ignoring the recommendation of the operator not to follow says...They have had trouble there in the past!

See a pattern?
