Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was allegedly suspended from school after security officers found what they described as a 'burglary tool' and women’s jewellery in his backpack. The new claims, revealed in a leaked school report, paint a different picture of a troubled teenager who was kicked out of school a total of three times. The Miami Herald claims that in October, he was caught with a 'burglary tool' - a flathead screwdriver - and 12 pieces of women's jewellery. Martin insisted that they did not belong to him.
Earlier, he had been suspended for skipping school and showing up late to class. And most recently, in February, he was suspended again when officials found a 'marijuana pipe' and an empty baggie with traces of marijuana.

So, he wasn’t that ‘saint’ as Sharpton tries to describe him to us.
It was a burglary tool. Some folks call it a weapon. Some folks call it a shank.
[facepalm] Isn't that kind of like 'punishing' a drunk by giving them booze?
I don’t understand what anyone gains by trying to make the poor kid look like a criminal. If he had a screwdriver or an empty weed bag at one time, or even with him, it doesn’t matter. He wasn’t doing anything criminal Zimmerman chased him down. He wasn’t fleeing a liquor store robbery. He wasn’t climbing out of someone’s window. He wasn’t stabbing puppies.
This isn’t a political issue. It isn’t a left-right issue. A paranoid, overzealous neighborhood watch guy who saw criminality everywhere (see his 40 plus 9-11 calls since January 2011 for evidence) chased down a teenager walking back from the store, some sort of confrontation occured (what would you do if you were chased down by a gun toting stranger?) and the kid was killed. This confrontation did not need to happen, and it was Zimmerman who instigated it. He should be held accountable, at least for manslaughter. (by accountable, I mean tried in a court of law)
When a kid dies needlessly because of you, you should have to answer for it.
And according to the report: Trayvon investigated by the Miami-Dade police - the jewelry was not found to be stolen. The “burglary tool” was nothing more than a screwdriver.
I wanted to know how the racebaiters explain awaly the jewelry. Boys don’t generally carry around nice pretty feminine necklaces and ear rings.
At the heart of this maelstrom — in which the thorny issues of race and justice have surfaced as themes — is a boy who dreamed of becoming a pilot and liked to work with his hands.
After taking an airplane ride two years ago, Trayvon decided he wanted to learn to fly, his uncle Ronald Fulton said. The teen attended a Miami aviation school part time and was studying to be an engineer, a path to realizing his ambition, Fulton said.
Math was Trayvon’s favorite subject.
He liked to tinker, and he was good with his hands. He once took apart and repaired a broken scooter, Fulton said, and he liked to construct model cars and airplanes and draw pictures of things he wanted to build.
“He was extremely creative,” said Michelle Kypriss, Trayvon’s English teacher at Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in Miami. “He just loved building things. He really was intrigued by how things worked.”
She described Trayvon, a junior, as an A and B student who majored in cheerfulness.
His uncle said Trayvon was still a typical kid who loved sports, music and was just feeling the first flush of youth. “He was trying to start driving. He was just finding out about girls.”
Trayvon was close to his 21-year-old brother Jahvaris, also of Miami, and assisted his uncle, a quadriplegic, on outings to University of Miami basketball games.
“He used to help me,” Fulton said, voice breaking.
Trayvon — who was known as “Tray” or “Slimm” — played youth football during his early teens and helped his father coach Little League baseball, said Fulton, whose sister, Sybrina Fulton, is Trayvon’s mother.
If a flat-head screwdriver is a burglary tool, then I’m in deep doo-doo.

It sounded to me like in the 911 call from the neighbor that there were two gunshots. Maybe one went stray during the struggle and the other found its mark.
I pronounce Trayvon innocent on the “burglary tool” and jewelry charge. I also have women’s jewelry and these burglary tools (AKA screwdriver set from Walmart) in my home.
Seems like the punk had a habit of taking swings at authority figures.

I’m wondering if the jewelry is where the weird allegations of homosexuality surfaced.
Perhaps it was an echo? I know nothing about guns but whenever I’ve heard gunfire, it has always sounded like firecrackers.
I have no idea why he had the jewelry and screwdriver, but women’s jewelry in your pack at school?
And yeah, a screwdriver is an effective burglary tool against simple spring loaded door locks, also to pry open some windows.
IF Trayvon used/sold drugs, robbed houses, dressed and talked gangsta, - were Zimmerman’s instincts that far off?
Was Trayvon such a model kid that he might not have jumped on Zimmerman?
The whole thing is a tragedy, but an “attack on blacks”? No.
It was for his wife, Morgan Fairchild....yeah, that's the ticket!
Yeah. That's why he got suspended.
