Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill on Tuesday called the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin a "murder" and the result of racial profiling.

"I tell my son, you have to be careful (wearing) a hoodie," Rep. Hank Johnson, a Georgia Democrat who is black, said at a House briefing. "Trayvon was murdered for walking while black in a gated community."

Martin's parents also spoke at the House Judiciary Committee briefing on hate crimes and racial profiling. Organized by House Democrats, the briefing brought the heated national debate over Martin's death and the handling of the shooter to the halls of Congress for the first time.

“Zimmerman better start suing all these wealthy public figures that are lying “

That’s why these lying cowardly Dems (but I repeat myself) did this where they’d have congressional immunity.

That should be the focus of the coverage of these minority party dog and pony shows: they’re a chance to lie.

Isn’t Hank Johnson the same guy who thought Guam would tip over with too many people?

Yes but only if the additional people were white, because that would upset the racial balance on Guam, causing the island to capsize. You know, science is complicated.

I would say insisting an act of "self defense" be called "murder" simply because the one dead is black, is "racist" at its very core. Shame that hispanics / caucasians / asians / etc. are not permitted such protected class status. I guess that would be too "created equal" in the eyes of our liberal counterparts.

Sure, deflect from the real issues facing this country. My question is: When are the Latino’s going to protest?

Rep. Hank Johnson: Guam could 'tip over and capsize'

March 31, 2010, 4:23 pm by Christina Wilkie

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) is afraid that the U.S. Territory of Guam is going to "tip over and capsize" due to overpopulation.

Johnson expressed his worries during a House Armed Services Committee hearing on the defense budget Thursday.

Addressing Adm. Robert Willard, who commands the Navy's Pacific Fleet, Johnson made a tippy motion with his hands and said sternly, "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize."

Willard paused and said: "We don't anticipate that."

Scary that these lying, stupid, hate spewing racist thugs like Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.)  even attain office in the first place..

Scary perhaps, but surely not surprising given the GA 4th's constituency and record.

What is so hard about staying quiet until the facts are all in? I learned years ago to WAIT and not impulsively weigh in on these many “scandalettes”. Sure it’s difficult, but acting adult is difficult.

Many of our prominent conservatives jumped in with loud remarks blaming Zimmerman for being a racist cold blooded stalker. Funny how time reveals facts not first seen.

Now we are seeing just why the police didn’t detain Zimmerman. They had the obvious physical evidence, a story backed up by an eye witness, and a clearly distraught and injured neighborhood watch citizen.

This Zimmerman/Martin scandal may end up like the Duke Lacrosse scandal. A big embarrassment for those who just couldn’t wait to chime in.

With any luck in November. The more they attack Zimmerman, the more it alienates the Hispanics. Hopefully it’s enough to cause a swing in the vote.

That the Admiral was politically correct in his response and did not point out that this moron did not know WTF he was talking about pisses me off more than this idiot congressman.
