Rep. Bobby Rush Kicked Off House Floor for Wearing 'Hoodie'
The Hill ^ | Wednesday, March 28, 2012 | Peter Kasperowicz

Posted on 03/28/2012 8:10:33 AM PDT by kristinn

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) on Wednesday morning was asked to leave the House floor after removing his suit jacket to reveal a "hoodie," then putting the hood of his sweatshirt on his head to protest the Trayvon Martin killing in Florida. A photo of Rush can be seen here.

"Racial profiling has to stop," Rush said. "Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum." Rush also put on sunglasses.

Rush quoted the Bible while presiding officer Gregg Harper (R-Miss.) repeatedly interrupted him, then asked the Sergeant at Arms to enforce the House prohibition on hats in the chamber.

Read this about this fool.. life, education, and political activism After dropping out of high school, Rush joined the U.S. Army in 1963 but went AWOL and received an honorable discharge in 1968.[2] Throughout the 1960s Rush was involved in the civil-rights movement. He worked in civil-disobedience campaigns in the South, and co-founded the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers in 1968 and was made its "defense minister". His son, Huey, was named after Panther leader Huey Newton. "We were reacting to police brutality, to the historical relationship between African-Americans and recalcitrant racist whites," Rush later told People magazine. "We needed to arm ourselves." Rush was present when fellow Black Panther Fred Hampton was killed in a police raid and later made a official statement that the police, referred only to as "pigs" by Rush, had murdered Hampton. Rush's own apartment was raided in December 1969 where police discovered an unregistered pistol, rifle, shotgun and pistol ammunition, training manuals on explosives and booby traps, a small amount of marijuana and an assortment of communist literature.[3] Earlier that same year Rush stated the philosophy his membership in the Black Panthers saying, "Black people have been on the defensive for all these years. The trend now is not to wait to be attacked. We advocate offensive violence against the power structure."[

When you assume the uniform of a thug, expect to be treated like one.

"Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum."

So what happens when the fashion is to wear Ski Masks and or Nylon Stockings on your head?

Funny though that if you want to get a permit to carry a concealed weapon your automatically a "Hoodlum" as far as the democRats are concerned.

If you know your French revolution, I believe it was the revolutionary Blanqui who was freed from the Bastille and appeared in Parliament, ranting from the podium and white as a ghost from his years in a dungeon.

This is mildly reminiscent.

I wonder if someone would be well received if they showed up wearing a sheet to prove that not everyone wearing a sheet is a klan memeber? I think not!

Best answer yet. How about if they were carrying a noose to prove that not all nooses are used in hanging?

I don’t know why they kicked him out. His dress is completely representative of the United States Congress. In fact, that should be the dress code. Jordan tennis shoes, gold teeth, pants down around your ass, plenty of bling, pistol in your pants; and everyone change their name to gangsta types. Instead of floor votes, they can give gang signs. The Dems could wear blue hoodies and the GOP could wear pink. Boom box blasting from the limo’s outside. Trash all over the floor of the House. Nothing but a bunch of thugs and punks anyway. Might as well go all in.

What are the odds that ANY nominee would have the balls to actually call the left on their race-baiting with regard to the election?

Would it be zero? Or less, maybe?

Tell Rep Rush if the black crime rate was the same as the Japanese crime rate, there would be no crime racial profiling. Muslim clothes get them profiled for the same reason.

This hoodie business is making me laugh, I spent last winter riding my bicycle in the cold weather wearing a hoodie, with a balaclava underneath, and sunglasses. No wonder I got a lot of weird looks. I had no idea hoodie meant gangbanger, I just wanted to keep warm on the bike.

Guess that is what Congress will be like after the revolution, idiots wearing gangsta garb.

Mr. Rush is doing his best to quickly usher in the mindset, fashion sense and abject failure of "Idiocracy" to the United States!

Chicago reaches 100 homicides for the year By Tracy Swartz posted March 21, 2012 at 12:00 a.m.

Chicago on Wednesday reached 100 homicides for the year—the fastest the city has hit this mark in at least seven years, RedEye and police data show.

Seventeen homicides have been recorded in the last week—including four each on Saturday and Sunday, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police information found.

A 6-year-old girl was fatally shot Saturday afternoon -- one of five individuals wounded within one hour in separate shootings across the city and one of at least seven killed by gun violence over the weekend as of Sunday morning -- in Chicago.

Aliyah Shell was playing on her front porch with her parents around 3:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of South Springfield Avenue in the city's Little Village neighborhood when a pickup truck pulled up to the house and a man inside the vehicle began shooting at the house, NBC Chicago reports. So where is Chicago Congressman Bobby Rush ....?

Oh. Never mind. Just black on black crime. Not important to race hustlers..... sarc

I have never associated hoodies with black thugs unless they are part of the ‘thug ensemble.’

My youngest (21) son would not know what Christmas was if he did not receive at least 3 hoodies. It is the same each Christmas. He wants 2 GA & 1 Duke. I can't get him to take a South Carolina Hoodie. (It's a Spurrier thing).

Every young man I know wears hoodies. We all wear hoodies!
