Judge to hold hearing on Occupy New Haven

Protesters are still on the New Haven Green two weeks after the city had given the Occupy movement an eviction notice, and Wednesday they will find out how long they will be able to stay.

For nearly six months the Occupy New Haven movement has taken over a portion of the city green.

They said it's public space, and they're exercising their First Amendment rights to free speech.

The city said they're limiting the public's access to public space and issued an eviction notice two weeks ago.

But a federal judge in Bridgeport said the protesters could stay a little while longer.

That's so the issue of whether the city is even allowed to kick the protesters out can get a closer look.

But, while many New Haven residents may agree with their message, they say the encampment is an eyesore.

There's also concerns its growing dangerous after police say a woman was sexually assaulted inside one of the occupy tents.

YALE wants them gone, before the graduation.

I’m sure the majority of Yale profs support OWS. Time for them to see the results.
