Same-sex "marriage" is still NOT legal in Massachusetts, and was NOT created by the Supreme Judicial Court's Goodridge ruling.

In fact, it was Governor Mitt Romney who was ultimately responsible for same-sex "marriages" taking place. The Supreme Judicial Court only issued an opinion and advised the Legislature to act (which it never did). Even the Court acknowledged that it had no power to change the law.
Governor Romney created these "marriages" through an unconstitutional and illegal directive to his Department of Public Health (to print new "marriage" licenses), and through his legal counsel threatened to fire any Town Clerk or Justice of the Peace who failed to implement the (non-existent) "new law". He was not required by any constitutional mandate to do these things. On the contrary, his actions clearly violated his oath to uphold the laws of Massachusetts.
What did the Goodridge decision actually say?
To start with of all, the 2003 Goodridge SJC decision on same-sex "marriage", which reversed a lower court ruling, said 4 things:
First, it acknowledged that the current law does not permit same-sex marriage.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again....
I saw where some libs posted on Facebook that they would be ok with zero OR Romney as potus in November because they would BOTH be for homosexual marriage and the individual mandate for health insurance. Of course, said lib will vote for zero, but isn’t concerned if zero doesn’t make it because the Romney would be zero-lite. The libs know this and yet Romney will be our nominee (God forbid).

Everyone knows it except for Republican primary voters apparently. As long as he has nice hair, they're fine with him.
Romney’s record shows he is the same as Obama.
Romney could of helped Catholic Charities adoptions in
Massachusetts with a “conscience clause” but instead supported
the homosexual agenda. A child needs a mother and a father
not a mother and a mother or a father and a father.
Don’t object, try to correct by saying, “Ellen” is the father.
There sure are a lot of really stupid people then, like the entire pro-marriage movement, for not simply suing to make them stop this "illegal" activity.
