When it comes to parting words, a huge number of executed inmates in Texas are resorting to the belief that all you need is love.
In an analysis using data from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the website Good.is developed an infographic detailing the more commonly used words. The data was compiled from the last statements of every inmate put to death in the state from 2000 to the present, which are published on the Texas Department of Criminal Justices website.

And seeing how the Cowboys have won all of one playoff game during that span, I can see that it obviously hasn’t worked.
For both of them.............
At least the State of Texas isn’t having to shell out any more money to support these poor misunderstood criminals.
The most surviving murderer last words were from killer Gary Gilmore, who faced a firing squad.
“Let’s do it!”
James D. French (1966) “How about this for a headline for tomorrow’s paper? French fries.”
My favorite is the clown who couldn’t finish his last meal. As he was being led to the death chamber, in all seriousness, he asked the guards to save his meal so he could finish it later.
Unclear on the concept.
Poor, misunderstood criminals, misunderstanding ‘street Christianity’.
One can’t expect salvation from a crudely stated mistaken “Ah believes!” which was not part of one’s life until the moment when one is being executed.
Bad Criminal! Oops, sorry for the redundancy.
I’m partial to Erskine Childers, who was executed by firing squad: “Take a step or two forward, lads; it will be easier that way.”
Interesting guy.
you are bad, very bad, for relaying such a hilarious story that I am ashamed of laughing out loud at....
Beating a child to death gets you the death penalty, and I have no problem with that. That said, I find it sad and weird that his last thought as he left this earth was a shout out to a professional football team. I don’t get why so many of us care so much about these things. I’m part of it. I live in New England and was depressed for days after the Patriots lost their last two Super Bowl appearances. For me, the high that comes with winning is not as sweet as the pain that comes with losing is bitter. Yet I can’t put it aside, stop looking, and stop caring.
Those British newspapers sure do worry a lot about what goes on in the USA.
Uh, Why? and isn’t there a better use for the money?
Probably from an old movie but the guy was being led off to the electric chair and as he strolled down the aisle the other cons were saying their last ‘goodbyes’ and one grizzled old dude yelled out “More power to ya Harry”...
My male ancestors were run out of every country in Europe because they were caught in the sack with the female nobility.
Our family motto is “The Duke wants my head, but the Duchess wants my _____.”
If I recall correctly, he tried to commit suicide and blew most of his brains out in the attempt. I don’t recall whether that was prior to his arrest, or whether he somehow got a gun while in custody.
Anyhow, prior to the suicide attempt he was one bad dude. After the suicide attempt, there wasn’t much left. By all accounts, he was then quite gentle and had the mental ability of a small child.
BillyJeff turned down appeals for clemency and had him executed anyhow, to show that he was tough on crime. The perp had the satisfaction of dying for the Higher Purpose of electing a liberal Democrat.
That's because the guy was mentally retarded, with an IQ of about 60. Then Governor Bill Clinton declined a stay of execution to prove how tough he was on crime. It was despicable.
Who cares?
