>>>Ahh .. memories of summer of ‘73 and jimmah’s odd/even CF

That would be Nixon’s odd/even CF. Carter didn’t take office until 1977. Carter tried but failed to impose national odd/even rationing in 1979. however, some states did impose it on their own.

” I fill up every two days even if its only a couple of gallons...you never know. “

I’m not quite as radical as that, (not practical, since I live 30 miles out of town) but up until a couple of weeks ago, I was filling up at 1/2 tank, but now I’m only letting it get to 3/4 and then I top it off...

I’ve been doing this since Katrina...it really hit home with the tornado’s of April 27 when most areas of North Alabama were without power for 5 days. Never had a worry about gas...

Hundreds of petrol stations across the country have been forced to close thanks to panicking drivers flooding forecourts

Sure, blame it on the people who need fuel to get to work and feed their families. It couldn't be the truckers' fault.

with the signing of President Obama’s latest Executive Order, which takes control of all resources in the United States including the workforce, there is a strong possibility that any nationwide strike that threatens the regular flow of commerce could prompt the President to declare a national emergency and force drivers back to work under what amounts to a martial law scenario.

Hussein was probably too stoned in the 70s to remember the gas lines here. So he's busy taking notes on the UK. I don't have the need much gas but in a crisis the grocery and hardware stores are too far to walk to.

Average price for a gallon would be about £6-7.

Average litre is £1.41. Multiply by 4.54 and you get roughly £6.30. So on average in the UK a tenner would get you a gallon and a half.
