Then I suggest you run for office in the mid terms.

Then congressman we happen to have in this district I happen to like, so we are good to go here.

I also suggest you run for office in the mid terms.

Unless you are satisfied with your congressman/women, run for office.

Supporting Mitt IF he gets the nomination does not make someone a RINO. And at this point endorsing him doesn’t either, because he’s virtually guaranteed to get 1,144 by anyone who’s looked at the numbers and who’s recognized the significance of his Illinois blowout in a winner-take-all by district state. It’s understandable that smart numbers guys like Ryan would want to endorse him now to try and get whatever leverage they can. At this point, having conservatives endorse him is a GOOD thing because we want conservatives to have whatever leverage over him they can get, in case he ends up getting elected. Up until Illinois, it’s safe to say the Mitt endorsers were RINOs. But after Illinois, it’s a much different story.

Romney, the vanguard of Reaganomics? The guy who said he’s not trying to go back to the era of Reagan and Bush?

Romney is a liberal businessman like John Corzine and Warren Buffett. His biography fits the profile. He has no blue collar or middle class roots and was born into a political family as the son of a governor. He never actually ran a business with blood, sweat and tears, he just pushed massive sums of money around in sweetheart deals where he might not always win but the structure of the deals dictated that he COULD NEVER LOSE. He’s someone who had everything in life handed to him. Therefore he thinks everyone should have things handed to them by a socialist government.

He passed Romneycare. ‘Nuff said.

He raised fees and taxes (or as he tells it, “closed loopholes”) in Taxachusetts to the tune of about 700 million dollars in new revenue, even while job creation ranked only 47th among all states in the nation.

He had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 20% across-the-board tax cut he’s promising, after his tax plan was described by the WSJ as “timid” and similar to Obama’s. We’ll have to see if his new plans survived the Etch-a-Sketch shake-up.

His earlier plan said he would not cut taxes for anyone making over $200,000. Obama said he would give tax cuts up to $250,000. So Romney was more liberal than Obama on tax cuts.

He said on the campaign trail that he would index the minimum wage to inflation. I think that’s a more liberal policy than Obama’s.

He refused to speak up in favor of John Kasich’s union-busting legislation when asked.

His vision for the “very poor” is for them to be permanent members of the underclass supported by the “safety net.” That is exactly what every socialist’s vision includes. They don’t believe in class mobility, they believe in class division and class warfare. And their goal is to redistribute income through the state to the lower class from everybody else.

Romney’s an economic liberal and a progressive socialist. For some strange reason most Republican voters seem to assume that being a businessman or being rich automatically makes you an “economic conservative.” One way or another, Romney has managed to pull a thin veneer of wool Republicans’ eyes on that point. They are going to have a rude awakening if this man is elected and they get to find out what his economic philosophies really are.

I laughed my tail off when one of us Newt supporters called him Santuckabee. That name is so appropriate and quite prophetic.

Excellent post#53. Excellent and truly the starting point of a real discussion of what needs to be done.

Yes. And it proves that the GOP establishment isn't the only stupid wing of the party. It's happened two times in a row now with conservatives, and they don't seem to have learned.

I think that total unity, I mean real stick to your guns unity, don't blink, don't give an inch, kind of unity is the missing element, and needed from early on. we need to create our own leviathan. I wish the conservatives would have copied one thing from teh gop-e, and that is telling Newt's it's your turn...

I can't believe some here would sit home and watch 0bama walk to another term rather than get out and vote for Romney. Afraid of a “Mormon cultist”,? how about an unbridled godless communist statist? let not your heart be troubled people, Mitt may not be perfect but about the one thing he's proven is that he's at least moldable, and last time around he was in a very liberal state. I have a hunch his core is more conservative than he's been given credit for here. If I get a ZOT for being Mitt over 0bama here then so be it.

Such a comment from Newt was inevitable. Expect a similar comment from Rick following Romney’s wins next Tuesday.

If not next Tuesday for Santorum, then following him losing in his home state of PA in 2 or 3 more weeks. Rick should do the right thing and get out next Wednesday. Same for Newt.

Obama is the target (along w/ gaining control of the Senate)

Just to clarify, I am not in Mitt’s CAMP.....I am a strong supporter right now of Rick Santorum.

HOWEVER if Romney ends up with the nomination, I pray to God that He wins.

Obama has a agenda......to completely destroy and put the last knife into our beloved USA.

You all, God can work a miracle, pray for Santorum every day from now until the election.

I recall what prophecy said about Romney in 08, it wasn’t
good. He hasn’t changed so it applies now. If ever our
nation needed a Christian President, we can’t go another four
years.

And that has to do with what? Run for office and you might gain a wider circle of friends.

This is the problem. We have people who like to piss and moan and whine about what is going on in DC and their prospective areas pertaining to government, yet, not a GD one of them will take the bull by the horns and run for office to actually change things.

Those are the ones who are the problem. This country was built from the bottom up. And that is the way to correct it.

Despise not prophecy. God can read our hearts, our minds
and He sees the state of our soul.

Whichever candidate you elect, and ONLY AFTER much heartfelt, intense prayer, will eventually lead U.S.A. to be under total control of VERY evil men. Martial Law and prison camps will be your fate.

Rid your country of Me, and I promise I WILL PUNISH SEVERELY!!! You will have a dictatorship and no more free will.

U.S.A. is on a downward spiral to feel My Justice! My HAND IS FALLING! Destruction IS coming- -severe punishment awaits U.S.A. and every country that eliminates your God!

Any man or woman who rejects My words, lies, murders, approves of abortion, controls under the rule of Satan, WILL DIE- -forever!!!

These words you will find in Scripture, the Holy Bible! You [candidates, presumably,] read NOT My word! You do not own a Bible! Offering to supporting the nominee is now a RINO?

Since your criteria casts such a wide net, how did you leave Santorum off your list?

Here we are four years later arguing over Republican candidates for President and Obama. This time we have a chance to elect a Christian President.

How simple can it be? We need the help of God’s grace.

God blessed this nation, we have record, not now. It’s so
obvious how we turn back to Him. Elect a good man, a
Christian to lead us.

Crazy to think morals and belief do not matter.

An open reply to FReeper brownsfan:

I SAID: “America will deserve what she gets.”

YOU SAID: “That’s the spirit. It’ll be great for our kids and grandkids.”
____________________________________________________________

I SAY: Yep, but, sad to say, many times innocent kids have to pay for the sins of the fathers. Am I right or wrong? This nation, to quote my granny, is “in a mell of a hess”. Maybe some day our posterity will look back and say: “What happened to the America my parents and grandparents knew and loved?” And someone will say: “Well, it all started in 2008.” I still say, if America reelects Obama, America will deserve what she gets. And, our kids and grandkids, sad to say, will suffer because of the stupid, American electorate of 2012.

Have a nice day; while it’s still somewhat possible to do so.

With due respect, my friend- that may or may not be so. That’s the point. Because he has no core, no one knows what Romney will do.

Point well taken. I have my doubts, too, for obvious reasons.

But he's onboard with Ryan. And when I hear him talking about taxes, I don't hear that sickening word "stimulus" and I don't hear him talk about putting money in people's pockets to spend. In short, he seems to understand incentives and economic growth. He's not a Keynesian, or heaven help us, a Marxist like Obama.

Thanks for posting the Spectator article.

I really can't argue with most of it. I would, of course, love to see a principled defense of cutting marginal tax rates by the Republican candidate. It's true that Romney is playing on the democrats "fairness" field.

But he has signed on to Ryan's plan, which involves serious spending controls. He calls for regulatory reform, and I think he means it. He calls for tax cuts across the board, not exempting the top brackets. He puts across a message of improving the economy, and he does it with a smile on his face.

Newt's economic plan is certainly better, but he can't sell it. He's known, and he's disliked by many. He's beloved by conservative political buffs, but he is a much, much, fatter target for Obama than Romney.

As far as "trustability" goes, for all Romney's policy reversals, one has to remember that he was in Massachusetts. He said and did what he could. He will not back mandatory universal federal health care. And I trust Newt even less. He has just emerged from the ultimate liberal hive, Fannie and Freddie, coated in honey. He demonized the best hope at entitlement reform this cycle.

Romney is no Reagan. But I agree with Rubio, Ryan, and Coulter that he'll be a good president. And he won't send women, youth, and independents running away in horror. He can win.
