The Gender Gap: Three Decades Old, as Wide as Ever (Zero: + 20 women Disclaimer: Pew Poll)

The gender gap in presidential politics is not new. Democratic candidates have gotten more support from women than men for more than 30 years. Even so, Barack Obama’s advantages among women voters over his GOP rivals are striking.

In the Pew Research Center’s most recent national survey, conducted March 7-11, Obama led Mitt Romney by 20 points (58% to 38%) among women voters.

So much for family fan Willard appealing to women voters. Of course this is from Pew.

As my political mentor Mary Jane Hollyday said about the earlier days of this Republic, “you all had the right thing going...women and %*^^@#s should have stayed out of it”.

“Obama led Mitt Romney by 20 points (58% to 38%)”

Is it still all about the smile?

Yep.

The 19th Amendment was the turning point in the history of the US. After that, government just got bigger and bigger and more intrusive... because women kept up the drumbeat for more, more, more, more.

It isn’t just the US, BTW. If you can read German or French, check out some of the writing on this topic in Switzerland. Same results. Women want government to be their Sugar Daddy. There are, of course, exceptions, but where we’re talking about the majority of women... they like their Sugar Daddy big and intrusive.

My own daughter warned me about this when she was in high school, a good conservative as I raised her. I tried to defend the 19th Amendment by pointing out smart girls such as her. She retorted that the airheads in her class had her kind outnumbered at least 2-1.

Separate this into “married” and “single/divorced” and you’ll see where the problem lies.

Women are wired to seek a provider and protector, and if it’s not their father or husband, they look to the government.

Note to GOP:

Women voters are the largest voting block

Women voters constitute the largest number of independent ‘swing’ voters

Women voters are not impressed with Romney.

Get a clue

the fact that Ann Romney has had to leap to his defense
in a couple of instances most certainly won’t impress them.

But it doesn’t seem to bother them one bit when Moochelle does the same for Barry with far more frequency. Go figure.

Typical Pew poll: sample = 27% Republicans overall; 30% registered Republican voters.

I’m with you, and I’m a woman. If most women are that dumb, they don’t deserve to vote.
