INDIANAPOLIS – A super PAC supporting Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar will spend next week attacking his Republican primary opponent and a separate super PAC as outside groups begin playing a greater role in Indiana’s Republican primary.

Hoosiers for Economic Growth and Jobs posted the ad online Friday, ripping the anti-tax Club for Growth for supporting state Treasurer Richard Mourdock’s campaign. The super PAC is spending $100,000 to air the ad on Indianapolis television stations next week.

“A Super PAC is attacking another Super PAC for being a ‘special interest,’ and attacking a former congressman who is not a candidate in the race. That sounds about as confusing as trying to figure out which state Dick Lugar lives in,” Club for Growth spokesman Barney Keller said Friday, referring in part to questions about Lugar’s residency that have become an issue during the campaign.

Super PACs and national interest groups are taking a more dominant role in the primary battle as the May 8 election draws closer. Hoosiers for Economic Growth and Jobs said in a mailer to supporters it plans to raise $1.75 million. A separate Lugar Super PAC, Indiana Values, plans to spend more than $1 million supporting Lugar, group treasurer Andy Klingenstein said this week.

This Super PAC is a creation of the GOP establishment and is intended to protect reelection chances of the despicable RINO/CINO Richard Lugar.

Richard Mourdock is a TRUE conservatives and, if he gets proper support, will defeat Lugar in the primary and be elected in a landslide this November. Conservatives in good financial situations can support Mourdock by donating to his campaign. You Hoosier FReepers can support him also in other ways. I wish I lived in Indiana so I could help out “on the ground”.

I'd merely run ONE ad, continuously on all TV and local radio.

"Dick Lugar hasn't lived in IN in more than 30 years!
That is longer than most IN voters have of adult memory!
That is longer than numerous voters have even been alive!
Dick Lugar is THE problem - not the solution!"

I gotta tell ya, I sure am getting tired of all the Romney robocalls (and a few from Santorum) that I am getting.

Sheesh!

Don’t forget that Lugar supports the Law of the Sea Treaty.

Looks like they are going to follow Romney's strategy... crush the poor conservative candidate with the weight of their money. If they cannot find real issues about the candidate, they will just make stuff up. Sadly conservatives are not at a point where they say enough is enough.

I know. If Lugar wins reelection we can expect him to make a HARD LEFT turn since (because of age) 2013 - 2018 would be his last term in the Senate and he wouldn’t need to worry about reelection. Kind of like Obama would be post reelection. I’d dread that.
