(CNN) -- At least 10 people were killed and more than 100 wounded following a pair of bombings Saturday in the southern Thai city of Yala.

The two blasts were the result of bombs stashed in stolen trucks, Police Lt. Gen. Paitoon Chuchaiya told CNN affiliate MCOT.

The blasts set fires to nearby vehicles, including a van, which itself exploded, leading to initial reports of a third bomb, Chuchaiya said.

Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said she has been informed of the Yala bombings and has instructed national police chief to investigate the crime scene immediately. Police investigators believe suspected insurgents are behind the attacks.

Last month, a series of bombs detonated in Bangkok. No one was killed in those blasts, and an Iranian suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

What would give you that idea?

Sura 4:89 “seize them and slay them wherever you find them:

Sura 9:29-33 “Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God,

I just don't see any connection. /s

The man on the right in the photo appears to be one of the rare moderate Muslims. They, together with Buddhists, are the targets of the separatist Islamists in Southern Thailand. This seems to mark an increase in the Southern violence. Yingluck isn’t likely to do much because even acknowledging the violence is seen as frightening away the cash cow of tourism.

Beard and very close cut hair are typical of Thai Muslims.

Looking at the Bangkok Post coverage and pictures, the target was a hotel/shopping center with one blast taking out a McDonalds and a Sizzler. Perhaps the Iranians had come connection here? Not that the Southern Separtists aren't likely to hate USA as much as anyone but with the Iranian bomber from Bangkok escaping to Malaysia and Iran's recent threats, this may be a larger war. Sickening. Bangkok Post Article
