Fox News Radio is where I get my information in following this.
It is odd that the chief of police resigned and Norm Wolfinger removed himself from the case. It looks like they pulled strings for him because of his speacial dad.
Thank you Gov. Scott. A minor had a right to be on the property and his life was cut short for some black sheep of the Zimmerman family who appear to be as dysfunctional as Casey Anthony's family.
Zimmerman's a mama's boy which is why he went into hiding immediately. He's probably hiding with Momi.
It's de rigueur, in a controversial case, for the usual players to step aside, and have an independent outsider make the final call. The point of this is to lend credibility to the system. The police chief stepped aside voluntarily. The town asked the feds to get involved, before the incident turned into a media circus.
His dad isn't special in Florida. His dad was a magistrate judge in Virginia, since retired. Pretty low-powered office, magistrate judge.
If there was going to be a credible charge of "protection" to Zimmerman, it would be his special relationship with law enforcement, just for being neighborhood watch, point man, and for initiating contact with the police more often that most people do. But I think this case involved too many players from the local constabulary, to make a cover-up feasible.
The evidence is what it is. There are 911 calls, eyewitnesses who did not call, Zimmerman's word, and forensic evidence. The evidence drives the conclusion.
