doesn’t matter who had a broken nose, who called for help, who was beating up who. All Stand Your Ground does is extend the castle exception from only in your own house to anywhere you have a right to be. The Castle Exception says that a person does not have the duty to retreat from an altercation before using force if he is in his own or at his workplace. In Florida, you do not have to retreat from anywhere you are allowed to be before using force.

However, Stand Your Ground does not get rid of the Initial Aggressor Exception. A person who is an initial aggressor can not later plead self defense. The only necessary fact is who started the initial confrontation. If Zimmerman confronted Martin, Zimmerman is the initial aggressor and cannot use self defense. This is because, at the time that Zimmerman made that first confrontation, Trayvon then had the right to avail the Stand Your Ground law. When you have two people Standing their Ground (ridiculous, I know) you have no one standing their ground. It is then just a fight. If someone dies in the course of mutual combat, the other person gets charged with manslaughter.

The only relevant facts are those surrounding the initial confrontation between the two. Not anything that happened after.
As an adult, I make it a habbit of leaving police work to the cops. My and my wifes guns protect this farm, and are used at the range.

So, who was the INITIAL AGGRESSOR? I wasn't there and you weren't either.

The “confrontation” appears accidental, the first exchange nonthreatening or neutral, and the younger person appears to have attacked the older one for no apparent reason; therefore, it's the older guy's fault for being there in the first place?

If Zimmerman wasn't there he wouldn't have been attacked, wouldn't have been a victim, wouldn't have been beaten, and wouldn't have shot Martin. Got it.

Trayvon is good because he's Black, 17, and a perfect angel; Zimmerman is evil, 28, and a Hispanic murderer cruising his neighborhood looking for people to kill.

Or, Zimmerman should have known that Trayvon was looking to hurt anybody who didn't “respect” him.

Trayvon is dead and Zimmerman is guilty because the MSM has said so. The MSM is unbiased and they would never lie about anything, would they? Of course not!

It's wonderful to see into the future based on 20-20 hindsight.

The truth will come out and we will see exactly what happened and when and why. I would not call Zimmerman a murderer or any anthing else at this point because there are too many unknowns.
