Fox News Ratings Down. (Take that Rupert and Roger!)

Fox Ratings Down; Romney Scores Historic Negative Rating; Women Love Santorum March 29, 2012by Lisa Graas

Mitt, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Sincerely, A Chicken Farmer. Several things are happening that indicate to me that some truth is coming out…albeit slowly. In my humble opinion, Fox News ratings are down 17% because viewers grow weary of their being so clearly biased in favor of Mitt Romney, but don’t look for them to see it that way. For the month, Fox News is down -17% in Total Viewers and down -27% in younger viewers for Total Day viewing vs. March 2011. The loss in Primetime is not as great: -9% in Total Viewers and -26% in younger viewers. Despite his millions, Romney has set a record in negative ratings: Mitt Romney trails Barack Obama by 19 points in basic popularity as the 2012 presidential contest inches closer to the main event, with a record 50 percent of Americans in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll now rating Romney unfavorably overall. Thirty-four percent hold a favorable opinion of Romney, the lowest for any leading presidential candidate in ABC/Post polls in primary seasons since 1984. His unfavorable score is higher than Obama ever has received; it’s been exceeded by just one other Republican candidate this year, Newt Gingrich, and by only one top candidate in 28 years, Hillary Clinton in 2008. Also, women love Rick Santorum. At least, conservative women do. This article at Politico about that can be highly misleading, though. [Emphasis mine.] But far from being scared off by Santorum, conservative women are zealously embracing him. The former Pennsylvania senator, who is ardently anti-abortion and against birth control, has won the female vote in a large handful of states in the Republican presidential contest so far, particularly in the South. He also has the highest favorability rating among women of any GOP contender. Rick Santorum is personally against birth control but he would not ban it. What the Left is so concerned about is that Rick Santorum thinks something about religion that they don’t want him to think, and so they tell people that because he thinks it, it means he wants a law about it. This is anti-Catholicism in that it indicates falsehood about what it means to be a Catholic candidate for office and it seems to be done intentionally, to build misplaced resentment against Rick Santorum. The reason Rick Santorum wouldn’t ban contraception is because he believes in E Pluribus Unum and also, I am guessing, that our faith requires that we not try to ram our beliefs down other people’s throats. We know that if we try that, we will only succeed in building resentment and that is not in accordance with our faith. Santorum frequently speaks about the American principle of E Pluribus Unum on the campaign trail, so reporters should know where he stands on how to heal polarization. America is a land of very diverse beliefs but we have to find agreement on basic principles as the Founders of America did. The reason he wouldn’t ban contraception is because so many in America are not personally opposed to it and because so many actually use it. To try to ban it would go completely against what he is about regarding agreement on basic principles and silence in the law on those matters we can’t find agreement on. So, for Politico to say he is “against birth control” without offering any kind of clarification as to what that means specifically is not really fair at all to Rick Santorum. In other news: HERE IS A MUST READ on the delegate math, according to the Santorum campaign. Newt has cut staff and, according to Stacy McCain, his campaign is “unsustainable.” Mitt Romney is still tone-deaf. Though Thomas Peters of Catholic Vote has clearly made a good case for Rick Santorum, Santorum isn’t winning the “Catholic vote” writ large with “Catholic” meaning anyone who identifies as “Catholic” to a pollster. These would include “Catholics” who are not at all okay with a faithful Catholic running as president. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney has Mormon “Romniacs” according to the Washington Post: They are Mitt Romney’s superfans. To be clear: These “Romniacs” are not Wall Street bigwigs or paid campaign operatives. Many of them, but not all, are Mormons like Romney. What unites them is a powerful — and unusual — excitement for a candidate who struggles to excite anybody else. I’m not so sure. I’ve seen a lot of bigwigs for Mitt Romney. This race is far from over. Donate to Rick Santorum today.

While Fox News has moved toward more moderate views they are losing viewers because of it. However, what alternative is there? Given the choice between, the White House Ministry of Truth at MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CNN and CBS and Fox I will continue watching Fox. However, listening to the useful idiots like Juan Williams, Allen Combs and even Bill O’Reilly raises my blood pressure.

Fox went down hill, IMHO, when they stopped the wall to wall Anna Nicole Smith coverage.

They’re not even about news anymore.

Fox News has become a tabloid. A platform for personalities.

Dittos! You know you've got a stinker network when you have to pose bimbos in the "legs" chair and load every show with lip-glossed attractive women (all with the same hairstyles) to keep viewers.

Completely stopped watching FOX last fall & haven't missed it a bit. I listen to music, read and get outdoors more now & get all the news I need on the internet. I hope their ratings continue to dive. Why can't conservatives put a real network together?

FOX SUX.

Exactly.

They don’t even report news. It’s just a bunch of morons going blah, blah, blah all day, every day.

One could watch them for 50 straight years and learn absolutley nothing.

Why do I need to know what Bob Beckel thinks on anything at all? Or Bill O’Reilly or Shepard Smith, or any last one of them? What an utter waste of time. Rather just leave the TV off.

FOX is no longer a conservative news medium ... like Krauthammer, Fox is always posed in a crowd of liberals so it gives the appearence of being conservative

Has FOX News 'Jumped The Shark' Over Mitt???

FOX News may have 'jumped the shark' over mittens

Fair and balanced is Juan McCain

I for one have had enough of the ‘wisdom’ of Bill Kristal, Chas. Krauthammer, Ted Baxter, Bret Beahr, Toyko Rove, Ann Colter, Chris Wallace, Sean Wannabe, Dana Parino, Brit Hume, Shep Smith, Judge Jeanene, Alan Comes, Bob Beckle, Juan Williams, Whoraldo, P.T. Trump, et. al. all acting the part of the Romney cheerleading squad

Does anyone else 'feel my pain'?

.

Name ONE true conservative who is regularly on FOX

There is clearly a hunger and a market for honest news and honest conservative news - and it is clearly not FOX

with apologies to Ted Knight ….Find O'Reilly:

Fox has been threatened into becoming what they now are. George Soros is calling the shots and has been ever since October of 2008, when Soros threatened the media heads if they reported on Obama’s eligibility problem. The threat was repeated at least once between the election and March of 2009. This is what Doug Hagman reported a while ago and Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s posse has corroborated.

What the media heads told the on-air personalities is that they were threatened with FCC and/or FTC annihilation after the election if they reported on eligibility, but that makes no sense given that simple reporting of Obama’s ineligibility and of the threats at a time when Bush controlled the DOJ could have kept Obama from ever seeing the White House. There had to have been some bigger threat - something that either made Obama’s election inevitable or that was worse than even FCC or FTC annihilation.

My suspicion is that Soros threatened to have his communist and Islamist allies make another run on the bank, like they had made in Sept of 2008, to collapse the entire world economy if the media companies, eligibility judges, President Bush and VP Cheney, Boehner, McCain, etc didn’t all do whatever he demanded. An alternative is that he threatened to start race riots if they didn’t obey him.

Both options are still viable today - and both are becoming increasingly likely with each passing day. In addition, with Obama at the helm Iran possibly has nukes from North Korea that he can launch from Venezuela in an EMP attack that could be followed up by attacks from Hamas and Hezbollah sleeper cells (since Holder has “nicely” kept our southern border wide open to the Hezbollah operatives flown to Venezuela on direct unchecked flights from Iran...)

As people are becoming more aware that our whole system is hostage, Obama and his handlers are casting caution aside. Breitbart’s sudden death just hours after telling Arpaio that Arpaio had good evidence of Obama’s ineligibility, coupled with the bomb scare to Rush Limbaugh - all on the day that Arpaio had his presser (saying there was probable cause for forgery and fraud on Obama’s BC and draft registration) followed by deafening media silence... tells us that what both Hagmann and the posse have corroborated about threats to the media is in fact not only true but easily observable to the naked eye.

So we have a hostage media for sure. I suspect we also have a hostage Congress and hostage courts. I know we have a hostage federal law enforcement system - as anybody who has any knowledge of Eric Holder can see with the naked eye as well.

The two big questions are what the threat is that Soros is holding over all these people, and how we can keep him from making good on those threats.

The producer of “We Will Not Be Silenced” says that top democrats told her that Soros met with both Hillary and Obama to find which would help him in his plans to destroy America. Hillary refused; Obama agreed. That, right there, explains the 2008 run on the bank that got Obama into office and everything we’ve seen this foreign enemy combatant do ever since he usurped our White House.

When we realize our true situation, the things that didn’t make sense all of a sudden fall into place. But as I said, the question is what we can do about it now. That’s what we have to figure out.

This all sounds nuts to those who haven’t thought it through. Here’s a post about the media threats, with links to more information: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2861437/posts?page=58#58

Someone should tell Rick Santorum that Trayvon Martin was nothing but a low life street Gangsta based on his twitter site rantings of hate Whitey “jive”!!! End of story!!! Those who rush to judgement on either side usually end up looking like fools!!! There will be many fools with egg on their faces when the grand jury releases its findings, including Obama, Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, Jones, Ayres, Jarrett, etc.!!! And.....Santorum will be right in there with the Black racist brood!!!

And I won’t vote from Romney ever. It goes against my principles.

I won’t either. I am just afraid that some are going to put pressure on people to vote for the jerk. I hope not but I am afraid that might be true. I won’t anyway though.....he is just way too liberal for me.

Sadly i find myself watching CNN headline morning news more these days rather than fox. At least i get some news stories and don’t have to watch Dick Morris explain how Romney is so wonderful for 20 min.

Didn't most of us say that last time around?

Looks to me like the RNC, yes, with Fox News fully in the bag, have been pretty successful in marginalizing or subverting the "conservative base".

Another, closely related reason is Fox’s highly biased coverage of the Martin-Zimmerman martter, especially Shepard Smith’s vile, absolutely unwarranted, baseless attack on George Zimmerman as a murderer, a view supported my Megan Kelly, albeit with a few less histrionics, when, if anything, the real crime was Martin attempting to murder Zimmerman by beating Zimmernan’s brains out on the concrete sidewalk.

I have regularly watched Fox news from it’s beginning. I have been a news junky.

However, I started to see them building a case for Romney. Then on what I call “Bloody Thursday”, when they, along with the rest of MSM went into a full out attack designed to take out Newt, I began to watch them even less.

I reached a point when I could stomach Fox at all.

This may sound silly, but about 4 weeks ago I began an experiment, I just shut the television off. For me, it was strange at first, but I have adjusted quite well... and I didn’t have to attend any 12 step meetings.

Fox news is dead to me. In my mind they have already gone broke and have been taken off the air.... I am completely done with them.

I read FR, I am posting less, I listen to some talk radio (not Rush) and tend to other interests and I love listening to music. I am actually learning to play an Harmonica.... I ordered two more keys last week. LOL

Surprisingly, I don’t miss any of that garbage and I actually feel more informed and less frustrated.

Rove and his GOP-e crowd can go straight to hell.

Lean left, loose viewers.

There are enough moderately lefty and heavy lefty news channels. We want hard core conservatism, and even the lefties want hard core conservatism so they can tune in and get agitated.

In foxes more conservative days, I had a lefty friend who was an old black lady. She loved to sit in front of Fox News and yell at the TV. It made her day.

Fox is screwing themselves by not going Full on Eligibility and dropping the “moderates” and lefties.
