let alone keep track of them.. let alone abuse of women..

The author Norma Khouri, who was an Arab living in the USA, was a victim of this type of crime. Her father raped her from a very early age, and it only stopped when she was in senior year at high school and had the courage to report him to police. Her mother was either complicit or incredibly dense.
He did some sort of plea deal - pled guilty - and was free again soon enough, he went back to Jordan.
She turned into a dubious person - a maker of fake honour killing accounts - but this may have been a long-term effect of abuse.
