...The attendance fell far short of the 75 thousand predicted by US Rep. Frederica Wilson, organizer of the event, but they missed a spirited rally held under a blazing sun.

The crowd belted out it’s approval of former Miami-Dade police director Bobby Parker’s comments.

If it comes down to numbers, where is the outrage or the rally over the thousands of young black men who die in black on black crime?

If the racebaiters would do what Gandhi did, or what MLK, Jr. did, and concentrate on winning people over by acting responsibly, working hard, and impressing others with their real accomplishments, race hated would disappear in America in two generations. Instead, they wail about how everyone hates them, and even those prone to be reasonable end up saying "what, this again"?

When I went to my suburban high school there were two black kids, simply because black families didn't move into our neighborhoods. Today, my child goes to a high school where half of the kids are black. We say that "she has no black friends" because she has friends...and their color doesn't enter into it (although about a third of them are black.) It is a very tough magnet school, so everyone there has no time for being crappy to each other, even if they chose to...and if you are anything but a hard worker, you are gone in two semesters. No race problem there, and people are judged on their accomplishments.

I want to do what MLK did...judge people on their accomplishments, and what's in their hearts. If you love your spouse, if you love and are kind but firm with your kids, if you work hard, keep your yard clean, and smile back when I smile at you, I don't care if you are white, black, green or purple. But every time I see someone who is a victim of "broken culture" and I have an opinion about the way they behave, I am branded a racist by the Left. If I have a judgement on the behavior of others who do drugs, or glorify violence, or call women "hoes", it always becomes about race as tool by the Left to excuse bad behavior. (By people who vote Democrat.)

I want (like MLK, Jr.) to judge people on the contents of their hearts. Are they kind? Gentle? Just? Fair? Hardworking and good to their kids? But every time I do, the racebaiters of the Left won't let me.

Did the guy over react? Yep. Should he have placed himself right next to trouble? Nope. Was it tragic? Yep. And every day hundreds of young black men are killed by other young black men...and I haven't heard a word from Sharpton, or Farrakan, or for that matter you, Mr. President, saying we need an outreach to stop young black men from behaving badly, from glorify drug use, from glorifying violence, or even for disrespecting black women. You want a "personal responsibility clause". Mr. President? When are the MANY young black men going to matter enough for you to say THEY are wrong and should change?

It seems these protest rallies had one of the smaller turnouts in Martin’s hometown; those who knew him best.

“Greater division and polarization in the political and cultural fabric of this country is the desired end.”

I agree, and I urge my fellow FReepers not to go in for it, whether they be black, white, hispanic or whatever.

The answer to the racism exhibited by the black racists in the media and unreverend Sharpton and his players is NOT for whites to be racist right back.

US Rep. Frederica Wilson

This year's April Fool. Second and third place were Al Sharton and Jessie Jackass; respectively.

Trayvon Martin receives an honorable mention, but was dropped from the [human] race early.

I wonder if there's a matching boob belt to go with that hat?

The former “police director” said, “Trayvon Martin gave his life for this cause!” I guess I’m either stupid or insensitive for being confused by that statement. All this time, I thought he was hungry for some Skittles and iced tea. Did Trayvon volunteer his services in some cause. I think the “cause” was invented because of his death.

Maybe it's like King Tut

when she said, “Let us all remember who the real enemy is. The real enemy is the Tea Party — the Tea Party holds the Congress hostage. They have one goal in mind, and that’s to make President Obama a one-term president,” Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) said at a Miami town hall with constituents. Rep. Frederica Wilson blamed “racism” for the high black unemployment rate on MSNBC

I would have gone but I don’t own a hoodie. I work for a living.

The problem is not the hood on the sweatshirt; the problem is the hood in the sweatshirt.

Mr. Speaker, I am tired of burying young black boys.

I am tired of watching them suffer at the hands of those who fear them and despise them. I’m tired of comforting mothers, fathers, grandparents, sisters, and brothers after such unnecessary, heinous crimes of violence.

In Florida, almost 3 years ago, as I served in the Florida senate, a young black boy, Martin Lee Anderson, was beaten to death at a Florida bootcamp. It was all captured on a State of Florida Corrections video and shown all over the world. Martin Lee Anderson was beaten and tortured until his lifeless body couldn’t take anymore, and then Martin Lee Anderson was dead, at the hands of several bootcamp guards. A young boy, who wanted to be somebody! A young boy who was trying to turn his life around.

After they beat him to death on international TV as the world watched, over and over again—not one guard was sent to prison. Not one was even reprimanded. In fact, after we closed down every bootcamp in Florida, many of the accused received promotions.

Well, guess what? In Florida, we have another Martin—Trayvon Martin. Trayvon Martin was shot to death by a renegade wannabe policeman neighborhood watchman.

Trayvon Martin lived in Miami, Florida, in District 17—my congressional district. Trayvon, a 140-pound young black boy, 17 years old, was just trying to live and reach 18. In spite of that, the accused killer, George Zimmerman, has not been charged, and is using the term of “self-defense.”

“The attendance fell far short...”

Maybe people were confused on whether black-blacks or black-whites needed to show up, so instead nearly everyone stayed home and watched TV made by white-black-hispanic-Indians in Mexico.

The whole Trayvon Martin story is Media driven Astro Turfing fueled by media manufactured lies and manipulation from day one.

The NBC falsely edited call to the police played on the Today Show is what got the whole outrage ball rolling out of control.
