Anders Behring Breivik, the man who killed 77 people in a bloody massacre in Norway, considered assassinating President Barack Obama.

Anders Behring Breivik, the man who killed 77 people in a bloody massacre in Norway last year, considered an attempt at the life of U.S. President Barack Obama, RIA Novosti reported on Sunday, citing Norwegian media.

According to the reports, Breivik planned to kill Obama as he visited Oslo to accept his Nobel Peace Prize in 2009. The local Dagbladetnewspaper reported that Breivik wanted to kill Obama in protest of the prize, which he said is traditionally awarded to people of leftist views.

Dagbladet reported that Breivik considered disguising himself as a policeman and killing Obama by blowing up a car laden with explosives. He eventually dropped theplan as unfeasible.

Breivik murdered 77 people in his killing spree last July as part of his mad protest against Norwegian officials for not stopping what he sees as a Muslim takeover of the country.

His main target in the shooting spree was a Labor Party summer camp on an island outside of Oslo, where he killed 69 people. Eight others were killed in a car blast in downtown Oslo.

Breivik has admitted to the killings but did not plead guilty, saying his actions were a justified protest. He faces 21 years in prison if convicted.

3 1/4 months per person - most of them children. Where’s a Viking when you need one? I am ashamed of my heritage at the moment.

But - they are REALLY tough on drunk drivers (well, if you call 0.02% drunk!).

“A few months ago, police stopped a 49-year-old business man. They found his blood-alcohol level to be well over Norway’s legal limit of 0.02 percent. Yesterday, a court there cited the man’s personal wealth of more than $30 million, and the court ordered him to pay $109,000 as a drunk-driving penalty - almost his entire annual income.”

IIRC, after a few offenses you lose your license and the ability of ANYONE in your family to own a car - forever.

Hey, at least that guy watching television in the fifth picture down has a good steel cup to drag against the bars...

Indeed, quite a stylish cup.  Probably an expensive designer brand, and holding an adult beverage.  I would suggest that there are MANY middle-class Americans who do not have most or perhaps even any of the amenities shown....including attractive female 'guards' who are 'encouraged' to socialize with them.

If rehabilitation is the goal, I confess that I don't understand what motivates a criminal to 'want' to become rehabilitated in an environment like this.  I'm guessing that the conditions in this 'prison' are far better than what they're accustomed to at home as well.

They can impugn harsh treatment as "revenge" all they like, but Society deserves to know that those who have violated the rules of a civilized culture understand that there is a penalty for doing so.  I see no penalty here, only lavish benefits, rewarding those who have often done utterly depraved, unspeakable things to decent people.

No one better try an attempt on Obummer’s life. I want to see him alive and serving out a life sentence in prison for the crimes and lies he is guilty of.

Although I agree and applaud your sentiment, I believe that in reality it is the American people who will be serving life sentences of a sort as a result of what he's done.  Lifetime upon lifetime, generation upon generation paying back the trillions of known and currently unknown dollars squandered, fraudulently spent or simply wasted; brave servicemen and women needlessly killed and maimed as a direct result of Obama's cuts to our military and military tech R & D, and with the rest of us being subjected to endless book tours, speeches, "appearances" and "news" paper articles about or by him, all attempting to recast him as a 'misunderstood saint' that America had been Blessed with but didn't appreciate enough because we're all racists.

And that's not even considering the possibly permanent damage he's done to so many aspects of the economy and culture as well as America's image in the world.

"sigh"

I may not agree with barry the zero, but the office he holds is bigger than all of us.

No. It isn't. Especially when the Office is being used to subvert the Constitution and our Republic.

Does Zero need to be assassinated? No.

Impeached. Tried for Treason and convicted? Sure...

He took out kids Communists.

Most of whom weren't "kids" at all. All of whom were being trained to be tomorrows Communist leaders.

Sorry, but I still feel very little sympathy for Commies of any stripe.

Yes. I know, I'm a monster for not crying my eyes out over every 18-30 year old who dies while trying to remake the world in the Socialist image. Sue me...

Once again, Norway attempts to punch above it’s weight.

Ok, I’m revising my retirement plans. I’ll have to talk to the wife, ask her if she wants to join me in a crime spree up there. Looks more comfy than a Hyatt retirement community.
