Anti-abortion climate 'will deter new generation of doctors' (UK)
The Guardian ^ | April 1, 2012 | Ben Quinn and Sarah Boseley

A new generation of doctors will be put off from becoming involved in abortion services by high-profile protest campaigns and a political "witch-hunt", providers fear.

The current climate is already causing anxiety among doctors who are concerned that their practice will be called into question, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) said, as activists behind a new campaign to demonstrate outside abortion clinics were joined at one protest in London by a Catholic bishop.

The warning comes as the BPAS and pro-choice campaigners say they feel "under siege" after the government ordered an unannounced inspection of more than 250 clinics in England, claiming as many as a fifth were pre-signing consent forms for terminations. The inspections by officials from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) were said to have found evidence of blank forms being signed in anticipation of women seeking a termination. Although doctors do not have to see the woman in person, they must certify that they are aware of her circumstances and why she wants to go ahead with the procedure.

A spokesperson for the BPAS said: "Abortion is a vital yet stigmatised area of women's healthcare which few doctors train in. The current politicisation of abortion provision is likely to make it even harder to recruit a future generation of abortion doctors who are prepared to provide the care that a third of women will need in the course of their lifetimes."

The commies at the Guardian are having an anxiety attack. Commie cowards love murdering babies in the womb because they don’t shoot back.

Shut the prolifers up by making their hateful, misogynist language illegal.

That's a main goal for those who are pro-abortion.

Anyone ever heard of an upstanding, professional, graduated in the upper 25% of his class abortion “doctor”?

Neither have I.

They are always the scumbags, the bottom of the barrel.

The left has a disconnect between the flippant slogan of “right to choose” and the actual dirty deed of murdering a baby. Doctors are for saving and improving human life or they would be doctors.

No doubt, soon the socialists will be putting doctors through mandatory baby murdering rituals.

Anti-abortion climate ‘will deter new generation of doctors’ They can’t be serious with this title right? They do understand that abortion kills babies, therefore, a new generation of doctors could be killed in their mother’s wombs before they ever are allowed to live. >_>

I’m convinced that the left has a visceral hatred of humanity, especially babies who embody the future of humankind. The environmental movement has its roots in the “back to nature” movement that formed in the middle 1800’s, as a reaction to the industrial revolution. They were intellectual snobs from aristocratic families who despised the capitalism and it’s industrialists, who created the greatest advance in the human condition in history. The left out to Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, but unfortunately, they’re back again, trying to force us back to the days of windmills, plague, and high infant mortality.

That’s a bet I’d be happy to lose. I don’t doubt your facts but why have the Infidels in the UK submitted to these cavemen?

One of my pro-life law professors is from a family of doctors. He always said that most people don't go to medical school to be an abortion "doctor". Those that are finish near the bottom of the class. There's a stigma to the job.

I noticed a lot of the abortion "doctors", especially late term are old men who probably made it big in the 70's during the heyday of Roe V Wade.

I think we have a good shot at ending at least late term abortions and possibly even 2nd trimester, during my lifetime - not through law, but through the reduction of these quacks.

I actually knew someone who became an abortionist. She was a feminist who wanted to serve the needs of the glorious effing sisterhood.

How many of the sisterhood did she kill? When did killing girls protect women?

Same reason they do in the rest of the western world, political correctness.

The feminist notion of the glorious sisterhood does not include everyone with two X chromosomes. To feminists, a female fetus is a worthless bunch of cells, an "it."

Conservative women are definitely not accepted as members of the sisterhood:

Even female children of feminists are not members of the sisterhood. They are regarded as chattel: owned by the mother, existing only to serve the mother's emotional needs.

When you get down to it, the glorious sisterhood actually includes only adult pro-abortion misandrist leftist American females.

As for the count of my abortionist-acquaintance's confirmed kills, I have no idea. I lost track of her long ago. Good riddance.
