Azerbaijan would have made a great base of operations for a strike on Iran. They have a big runway in Baku and Israeli fighters would had a straight shot, flying low over the Caspian sea to Tehran where they could be in position to take out government and HQ positions. Now the Iranians will threaten Azerbaijan diplomatically and send up AA units and better radar up north to prevent nay Israeli supriase attack.
Israel will still be an ally of the US, but they will not work with Hussein.
