On 7th anniversary of death, Mass commemorates Terri Schiavo: Priest compares her killing to 9-11

AVE MARIA, FL, April 2, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The 7th anniversary of the death of Terri Schiavo was commemorated by a Mass at the Ave Maria Oratory at Ave Maria University Friday evening. Terri’s remaining family - her mother Mary Schindler, brother Bobby and sister Suzanne - were all in attendance, along with pro-life leaders and activists from across North America.

Homilist Fr. Denis Wilde, Associate Director of Priests for Life, vividly recalled the “crisis period that gripped our nation leading up to the final week of March 2005 in Pinellas Park.” It involved, he recalled, “day and night media, Florida’s legislature, state, and federal and courts to Washington, with the intervention of both Governor Bush and President Bush, and then the courts, and the country then riveted on Terri’s plight.”

Terri Schiavo's mother and brother
and sister were all present at the mass.

“I am afraid many have forgotten the impact of your keeping the flame of life and hope flickering,” he said. “Not just for Terri, but as it turns out for the country as well.”

“But we haven’t forgotten and we never will forget, will we!” he exclaimed.

The priest said that the weeks leading up to Terri’s death were a time of “terror on all sides,” which he described as “no less than the terror visited upon our nation on ‘9-11.’”

“Both were about murder,” he said, “and both carried deep social implications, and still do. One came from a foreign manifestation of murder, the other from within our very courts from whom the responsibility to follow God’s law is greatest.”

“I vividly remember offering Holy Mass on that street in front of the facility where Terri was kept in a room with shades and blinds covered, along with others praying on that Tuesday of Holy Week - people from all over the country and Canada - for an end to this court-imposed travesty and a hoped-for, decent return to sanity. I remember a young boy was arrested among others and cuffed for trying to bring a glass of water to Terri.

Fr. Wilde also recalled that Pope John Paul, “who you will remember knew about Terri, his fellow sufferer in Florida,” had “released his spirit before the throne of the Father’s Mercy two days after Terri’s death.”

On behalf of her family Suzanne Schindler expressed her heartfelt thanks to attendees following the Mass. A reception was held at Ave Maria University.

God bless Terri Schiavo.

I will not forget this, nor will I forget Jeb Bushs part in it.

Her parents wanted their child, but a court with a god complex wouldn’t let it happen.

Her husband (murderer) already had another woman and children but he wanted this woman dead to absolve himself of any responsibility. He, the court, so-called Drs and nurses have millstones around their necks. The Lord will know them when He sees them.

I remember hearing on the local Florida radio stations, there were rumors (around the time of the delay petition signings)that some group(perhaps a National Guard unit (?) was dispatched by then Gov. Bush to move Terry to a actual hospital and had a brief stand-off with the local police (who were friends of the husband since he worked with them as a medical staff at a prison(?). Rather than have a conflict, the unit backed down to the police.

Sorry, I’m extremely hazy on details since I only heard about this over the radio and it seemed to be over in a couple of hours. Was this true?

That is basically what happened, Bush refused to allow the National Guard to confront the police and in so doing he violated his oath of office, the Florida Constitution and a lawful subpoena of the US Congress.

Fellow Freeper, eeeevil conservative, and I were there in Florida for the protest to try to save Terri’s life. We dined with Bobby and Mr. and Mrs. Schindler (they happened to be staying at the same hotel). Mr. Schindler had hope, even then. It is a horrendous, hideous thing to have happened. Evil in the extreme.

The woman who i befriended apparently was a close friend to bobbie. i did not speak to him but my heart and soul went out to all of her family. i stood and watched the “quiet” arrests of the people who walked up towards the front door, holding nothing more than a water bottle. i so wanted us all to rush to the door to give her water. i honestly felt that they might shoot us. I was a coward. god bless terri.

Amen, indeed. I will never forget. Terri Schiavo’s judicial murder had a huge impact on how I view this country and its laws.

I am no longer the flag waving naive believer that our country does no wrong. Judge Greer and Michael Schiavo murdered a cognitively impaired woman. I truly hope they both rot in hell.

Thank you for the ping, and for all you do in honor of Terri. She lives on in our hearts.

It was awhile ago but the State Troopers were on their way to get Terri and Bush called them off. It was a mid-day cancellation early on while Terri was still in fair condition.

The Coast Guard WAS coming with a copter to get Terri out of the State of Florida. AG Gonzalez on behalf of his boss, Bush 43, cancelled the Coast Guard copter. The Bush brothers called off motor vehicle convoy and also a helicopter and Terri starved and dehydrated to death. U.S. Coast Mark Reynolds was on his way and my friend was his contact. When he informed her that the mission was called off by AG Bonzalez for "his boss", my friend was shocked. She'd been working on this for weeks.

Terri was killed for Poppy Bush's NWO.

There was no standoff. Jeb’s minions would feed the media with stuff to keep everyone guessing including the time Jeb said that he’d go in there himself and get Terri and all that did was satisfy people who were on their way to the hospice. They turned around cuz they heard on the radio that Jeb was going to rescue Terri himself. BS was flying all over the airwaves and at ground zero. The swat teams were real though, all the guard dogs and security teams. I think Terri’s murder was a homeland security drill on what to do with citizens who are demonstrating against tyranny.

They go to Ave Maria U. instead of having a local commemoration so I don't go. Everyone is welcome to go to Ave Maria but I have a feeling they don't want the service here in the land of scientology, moonies, death cultists in high places, that kind of stuff right here. City, county and state leaders all played a hand in Terri's murder.

Sheriff that quit to join legislature to vote to kill Terri for his employee Mikey is running for Sheriff again. I will NOT vote for Everett Rice who gave hubby a cushy job and voted to murder Terri. There are evil republicans and most of them are right here.

Terri was a victim of the New World Order, Skull & Bones alums - the elites and bottom feeders who always find a way to latch on to an elite.
