Maybe it depends on the state. In my state, you can still buy the more expensive grade without the alcohol.

Are you sure that is what you are getting, or just the rumor?

In areas that require reformulated gasoline for smog, it is either going to still be MTBE (outlawed in some states) or ethanol.
