Apparently, many liberals were disappointed in the administration’s performance before the Supreme Court. They felt that the government’s lawyer, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, did not respond effectively to the challenges of some of the conservative justices.
The editor of Commentary, John Podhoretz, offered an explanation on his magazine’s blog. “American liberals,” he wrote, “know their own language, but they don’t know the language of their ideological and partisan opposite numbers. ... Conservatives speak liberal, but for liberals in the United States, conservatism might as well be Esperanto.”
I have argued this point for many years. In my book to be published later this month ("Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph"), I argue that the left is a victim of its own brainwash. How could they not be? All they hear, see and read from childhood on, from elementary school through graduate school, on TV and in the movies, are leftist ideas.
Yet this is not true for conservatives. One would have to grow up in a silent monastery not to be regularly exposed to liberal and leftist ideas.
For 30 years, I have had leading left-wing thinkers on my radio show, and I continue to be shocked at their lack of awareness of conservative arguments. About two years ago, for example, I asked one of the most powerful Democratic members of Congress -- a major force behind every tax increase -- what tax rate he thought might be too high. He replied that he had not given it thought. I asked a leading liberal writer who maintained that all American wars since World War II had been imperialist if he thought the Korean War was also imperialistic. He replied that he didn’t know enough about that war to respond.

Very insightful; unfortunately, it sort of explains why the Liberals keep winnning..........they talk to the win, not to the loss.
The liberals think that they are better than conservatives. They think they are smarter than conservatives. They think they are better educated than conservatives.
On various issues, the liberals dismiss conservatives with very simplistic thinking.
According to liberals :
If you oppose abortion on demand as espoused by Roe Vs. Wade, then you hate women. You want them impaled on coat hangers.
If you oppose Obamacare, then you are actually in favor of people not getting healthcare, and you want people kicked off health insurance, and you want the ill to die. Only good liberals have enough compassion to care for the ill.
If you oppose affirmative action, you are racist.
If you oppose illegal immigration, you are xenophobic and bigoted.
If you oppose homosexual marriage, you are homophobic.
If you oppse this new policy on birth control in insurance plans, with no religious exemptions, then you want to shove religion down everyone’s throat, and you don’t respect the constitution, and “separation of church and state”.
If you oppose fetal stem cell research, you are anti-science.
If you oppose global warming, you are also anti-science. It doesn’t matter that many serious scientists indicate that we really don’t understand some of the climate cycles earth has had in history. Only scientists who believe in global warming are to be listened to.
If you oppose various environmental regulations, then you actually favor pollution. You are not allowed to question whether some are too costly or too extreme. Oppose any of it, and you are in favor of lead and mercury and arsenic in our drinking water and in the air.
I’m sure there are other issues too. But this just off the top of my head, are some areas in which any who oppose or question liberal reasoning are demonized and condemned.
Logic and reason are foreign concepts to left wing ideologues, because it requires independence of thought and personal effort...............
Liberals may be completely lacking in reason and accountability, but they were smart enough to completely take over the organs which inform society, i.e. media, government, and education. That may prove to be enough to ‘win’.
That about sums it up...
In my experience, liberals are the most intolerant, close minded, arrogant folks I know.
I'd add "dogmatic" to that list, as well.
I think that the word is not "win", it is "war". That is the only logical outcome to the cultural and ideological clash that is happening in our country.
There are two roads America will follow into the future. The one to right leads back to the Constitution and the ideas the Founding Fathers laid out for it. The one that leads to the left takes the country farther and farther away, to a place that is totally antithetical to a vast majority of Americans generally, and conservative specifically; even after years of liberal propagandizing.
Conservatives have allowed themselves, myself included, to be pushed into a corner through "compromise". It is only recently that we are truly waking up to the fact that the left has never had, nor ever will have any inclination to compromise in the opposite direction. Anytime liberalism has been rolled back, it has been through force of ideological arms; if not literal.
There will come a point, I believe in the not to distant future, where one side, other other will be left with no option but to take up arms. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see this, in microcosm, in the form of inner city riots, either this summer, or in the fall at the latest, if obama losses the election. Anyway, I expect it to happen if not late in my lifetime, then most definitely within my children's.
Liberals are SIMPLETONS.....with a mouthpiece in the MSM.

I would love to blame liberals for all our failure over the past ten or so years. However,I have to look at conservatives for the failure we are experiences in being totally dominated by liberalism.
We followed Karl Rove for all those years in silence - his own enforced silence. No conservative aruguments -”divisiveness” - were permitted by him and we obeyed like party idiots.
In that silence, the liberals moved fast and furiously and made Bush, the GOP and conserveratives into a monster without objection. He allowed the Clintonistas to blame Bush for 911 right from the get-go (documents in Sandy Berger’s pants and all) and it was all down hill from there.
Conservatives are responsible for the mess we find ourselves in now. We were obedient to ignorant “leaders”, people who remind me of McCain and Romney. The “above it all royals” - the Bushes - have been a disaster for the constitutional Repubic.

Between the crap the Democrats have pulled and tried to pull since the Clintons and the way the MSM has continually ‘carried the water’ furhter and faster, it is a wonder that we are not in worse shape.
Once all the msm lies are exposed to the full light then all will be truly aghast and horrified at the sheer amount of crime, collusion, and corruption wrought on our once free republic - simply mind-boggling!
