Russian Fem Spy Spooked US, But It Wasn't Anna Chapman
ABC News ^ | April 3, 2012 | Jason Ryan

A female Russian agent got "close enough" to a sitting U.S. cabinet member that the FBI felt they had to swoop in and arrest the lot -- but it wasn't the famous femme fatale Anna Chapman, federal officials said today.

....................................................

But Figliuzzi never named the Russian agent in question, even if the BBC ran images of Chapman -- as well as shots of a look-a-like -- during the interview, and now the FBI says he wasn't talking about her at all. Instead, Justice Department officials told ABC News Figliuzzi was referring to another of the arrested spies, Cynthia Murphy.

Probably Murphy would of had to use old fashioned black mail because she is definately not a honey trap.

Did you notice how hard they worked to bury in the article that the “sitting cabinet member” was Hillary Clinton?

Hillary was as confused as a lesbian in a fish market. Those evil Russians just know how to exploit any weakness.

juicy bit:

According to court documents relating to the spies' arrest, Murphy had been in contact with a fundraiser and "personal friend" of Hillary Clinton, who took the office of Secretary of State in January 2009.

I read an article a few days ago in a Canadian paper (hint:if you want any news that might look bad for Obama, don’t go to US papers - they sanitize away ANYTHING that might look bad for the Dems)

that a Russian spy was arrested that was getting romantically involved with a sitting Cabinet member. They didn’t mention the name, but they definitely implied that they were going to bed together.

Word on the street is that when she found out the FBI was planning to arrest her, she ran to a friend’s house to hide, and said “Do you cache Czechs here?”

Is anyone else wondering the same thing I am? Why would they stop this from happening before any potential deed was done, rather than waiting to see where it might lead?

Because the deed that was about to be done was too frightening to contemplate. They had to protect Hillary from her own lascivious predilections before it was too late.

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/323507/20120403/anna-chapman-spy-obama-white-house-russia.htm

A female Russian spy -- possibly flame-haired media darling Anna Chapman -- was close to seducing a member of U.S. President Barack Obama's cabinet in 2010, the assistant director of the FBI for counterintelligence revealed in a recent interview with British television.

...the female agent was getting close to drawing a U.S. official into a "honey trap."

The individual "got closer and closer to higher and higher ranking leadership. She got close enough to disturb us," Figliuzzi said in a segment that aired Monday of "Modern Spies," a documentary series on the BBC Two channel in Britain.

Among a group that authorities considered mostly harmless, Chapman and Cynthia Murphy (a Russian national whose real name is Lidiya Guryeva, according to prosecutors), of Montclair, N.J., were said to have used social connections as well as flirtation in their purported spying, and one came closer than her colleagues to extracting sensitive information.

"We were becoming very concerned," Figliuzzi said. "They were getting close enough to a sitting U.S. cabinet member that we thought we could no longer allow this to continue."

Figliuzzi's statement was gender-neutral, a fact that the Ace of Spades HQ blog took to mean that a female cabinet member could have been a target of the Russian spy ring.

At the time of the FBI bust, there were reports linking Murphy to venture capitalist Alan Patricof, a friend and supporter of Bill and Hillary Clinton. After meeting them in the Hamptons, a tony seaside location frequented by Manhattan's wealthy, Patricof became a donor to Hillary Clinton's U.S. Senate and presidential campaigns, in effect providing the weblike connections needed for conspiracy theorists to tie either Chapman or Murphy to Obama's secretary of state.
