You are correct! Reagan said (and I am paraphrasing) "I didn't leave the Democrat party; the party left me."
Obama is correct that the GOP would reject Reagan today. And Reagan would be SCREAMING: "I didn't leave the Democrat or Republican parties; THEY left me!"
