Coke caves in face of Democratic boycott threat

emocratic officials Wednesday launched a two-pronged attack on states with new laws requiring identification before voting, the highlight being a call to boycott Coke, Walmart and others that back a leading organization pushing for voter ID laws.

Coke was quick to react to the political boycott threat, pulling support from the targeted group just five hours after it was called. Walmart said that support for a group does not mean it backs every decision by those groups.

At issue: Liberal claims that some states are trying to keep minority voters from the polls via voter ID laws, a suggestion conservatives call silly.

“We are organizing. We are not agonizing,” said Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., who is leading a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee effort to get government identification into the hands of the estimated 2-3 million Democrats who don’t have one. “We have staffed up,” he said.

Too bad they caved on a common sense point.

This is gonna upset conservatives that like their product.

A possible backlash?—I sure won’t buy it anymore.

I’ll laugh when the beltway bureaucrats regulate Coke right out of business. The’re too stupid to see they’re cutting their own throat.

I hope those groups boycot Wal-Mart. I might be able to start going there on weekends again.

"I hope those groups boycot Wal-Mart. I might be able to start going there on weekends again."

I was thinking exactly the same thing! If WalMart attracted fewer Democrats to their stores, I'd go shop there more often!

Friends of ALIPAC,

Many of you will remember that I told America on Fox News on Election Day 2010 that the Democrats planned to use illegal alien voters to save themselves from the Tea Party revolution. We believe we saw that with illegal alien voters saving Harry Reid in Nevada.

Now we have more evidence and we need you to take swift action to make this count.

Florida now joins the states of Georgia and Colorado where we have solid evidence of massive illegal alien voter registration and stolen American votes in elections.

Take the following important steps.

Step 1: Watch, rate, and comment on this copy of the video. Each time you watch it and comment you will help the video make it other people.

Well, after all, Trayvon was drinking canned “iced tea”, not Coke (or Two if by Tea) with his “skittles” (or as Rev. Al says “skillets”) on his way home from a 7-11, not a Wal-Mart.

What better way to get “the Man” to cave than to threaten a boycott. Jesse’s been doin’ it for years. Even got one of his sons a Bud distributorship.

Rainbow man, rainbow! /s

To be clear, the aborted fetal tissue used to make Pepsi’s flavor chemicals DOES NOT end up in the final product sold to customers, according to reports — it is used, instead, to evaluate how actual human taste receptors respond to these chemical flavorings

From PepsiCo:

PepsiCo does not conduct or fund research, including research performed by third parties, which utilizes any human tissue or cell lines derived from embryos or fetuses. We clearly communicate this in our statement on responsible research on PepsiCo’s website, which is available here: http://www.pepsico.com/Company/Corporate-Governance/Policies.html. Any research funded by PepsiCo and conducted by Senomyx for PepsiCo must abide by this responsible research statement.

the aborted fetal tissue used to make Pepsi’s flavor chemicals DOES NOT end up in the final product sold to customers,

To be clear, the remains of a ruthlessly slaughtered, innocent American baby actually reaches the Pepsi facility (your words, not mine) to be used to evaluate blah, blah, blah.

To be quite clear, there are NO remains of an ruthlessly slaughtered unborn baby anywhere in my world.

What in the holy hell is Pepsi doing at the back door of bloody abortuaries gathering anything. They're dead babies . . . and Pepsi rationalizes how they're used? That's like the Nazi's making lampshades out of the skin of dead humans. Can't find any difference.

I'll never buy a Pepsi product the rest of my life after hearing this horrible thing.

I think the idiots should be confronted on why they’re only targeting some of the states with voter ID laws. We have a voter ID law in Michigan and I haven’t heard a peep about it.

Is MI's law based on IN's? If I'm not mistaken, TN's new voter ID law is and they haven't come after us . . . . . yet. I figure it's because the Supreme Court already upheld IN's voter ID law.

Our voter ID law spent several years in court before coming into effect so the democrats would have to go to the US Supreme court to try to stop it.

I think our law was a product of the Mackinac Center and they’re pretty good at dotting all the Is and crossing all the Ts.

How easily was Coke dragged into political correctness the first time? EASILY.

"As taxpayers in America, we must all demand that the government take every step possible to ensure all voters are eligible. Otherwise, ballots can be illegally neutralized, thus violating our rights as voters. It is the responsibility of the federal government and the legislators in every state to enact and enforce laws that prevent voter fraud. The only way to do that is to require photo ID for all U.S. citizens who are lawfully registered.

"It is inconceivable to know that our nation's attorney general is fighting to block and overturn such legislation, including in South Carolina, whose governor has vowed to fight the federal government.

"There is only one reason to oppose voter identity in this country: To enhance opportunities for voter fraud. For Eric Holder to oppose voter ID by slanting the same worn-out platitudes about "racial discrimination" is a far reach and has no substance. Sadly, gullible people fall for the ruse. This is the standard Obama administration outcry when there is no other legitimate defense for anti-American policies, like opposing states' rights to defend borders, saying it creates profiling. The only reason to oppose voter ID is to muster illegal voters for a particular candidate".

I just got off the phone with Coke and McDonalds. In both cases, I acknowledged their right to not fund ALEC. However, I said until they are consistent in opposing the requirement of showing ID from customers who purchase their products with credit, I will not be buying from McDonalds or Coke.

Both operators were familiar with the situation and had prepared statements. The McDonald’s operator read the statement and when I repeated that for that reason I was not buying from McDonald’s she repeated that they stopped funding ALEC, apparently on the basis that I misunderstood McDonald’s position.
