While I agree on the UN building being declared "blighted" and demolished...

It still doesn't tell me who in Hennepin County thought it'd be a good idea to fly the UN flag in Minnesota.

The U.N. banner first went up in the plaza in 1986, when the County Board voted 4 to 2 to fly it alongside the U.S. and state flags. The resolution was sponsored by former Commissioner John Derus. Commissioner Randy Johnson, the only current board member who was on the board then, abstained from voting.
