I’m not convinced he has inside knowledge of the vote, I think he made these statements to hedge his bets. If it happens that SCOTUS upholds the law Obama will be seen by his base as a strong leader who backed SCOTUS into a corner and forced it to do his bidding. If the law is struck down he still has his villain to run against.

As soon as the justices took their vote last Friday, be assured that Kagan called the Oval office..
