Massachusetts School Removes “God” From Lee Greenwood Song “God Bless the USA”

An elementary school in Massachusetts has told kids not to say the word “God” in the Lee Greenwood song “God Bless the USA” during a recent assembly. Instead, they wanted students to say, “We love the USA.” Many parents were not happy with this move, but some agreed that the principal did the right thing. The school decided that they would pull the song from the assembly all together instead of continuing a debate about it.

Michael Graham, a conservative radio talk show host with WTKK in Massachusetts, joined Martha MacCallum on America’s Newsroom to discuss the matter. Graham disputes the point that there was a debate at all. “No one came to the elementary school in Bellingham, which is 15 minutes from my house and said, ‘We’re offended by God Bless the USA’ … What happens is these bureaucrats inside government get so afraid that someone might be offended that they preemptively censor themselves. This is censorship, this is good old fashioned government limiting speech.”

‘You can have your culture if you prefer it. I’ll take mine.’

Good for you. I will take mine: a mixture of Scottish, British, European and North American.

‘It sure is — but at times it’s also very dark and the sun is NEVER out, at least 3/4 of the year. I had to go on anti depressants in that place from lack of sunshine.’

Maybe in Germany. But Southern Europe from W France to Turkey, Italy to Cyprus is bathed in sunshine 3/4 of the year. Its no different to your own country!. Miami or Minnesota, San Diego or Seattle, Dallas or Denver.

‘Oh, shut up. I’ll tell you one story out of many that APPALLED me. My german neighbor felt she was “too old” to go back to school and had to just be satisfied with a low-wage position at a bank — at the age of 26!! She knew her opportunity to do that was OVER — at 26. What the hell is that? You can have your socialist crap — I have FREEDOM here, to be anything I want, and I can do it after the age of 30, as well. You take a 12 year old and tell them they can’t go to university because, well, they just aren’t “college material.” I find that quite limiting and small minded if you ask me.’

So you are ready to write off all of Europe because of the poor attitude of one German?. I am Scottish/British, and we have more people than anyone in Europe in ‘mature education’.

If you are trying to suggest that people in Britain, Ireland or mainland Europe dont try to better themselves, dont try to educate themselves beyond age 18, you are talking donkey twaddle, lassie. Utter twaddle.

‘You can crow all you want. You do NOT have the same freedoms we enjoy here’.

Utter crap.
For two reasons.

1—I am lived in America!.
2- You have never lived in Britain.

You cannot be so stupid or arrogant to think that living in Germany is the same as living in the UK. As if ‘Yoorup’ is all the same.

Try living in Britain. Then I think you will see that I am just as free as you.
