Does Romney have a 14-Million-Man Army ready for General Election? (Vanity)
April 6, 2011 | no dems

Another FReeper, in another posted comment, just this week, stated that his Mormon neighbor was obsessed with getting a Mormon, Mitt Romney, elected President of the United States. That statement has "stuck in my craw" ever since I read it; which begs to question:

If Mitt Romney is the GOP Nominee for POTUS, will the 14 million Mormons in the U.S. mobilize for him during the General Election? Hmmmmm....... Just wondering. The Mormon Church not only has a lot of "foot soldiers", but they know how to "mobilize". They've done it for decades.

Do not underestimate RINO-Rom in the GE. He's hungry. He's been running for the White House for 6 years. He, and the LDS Church have mega bucks. The Marriott Hotel Chain, for example, is a Mormon corporation; just to name one. And, the Primary season proved he will stoop to anything to win. Unlike McCain, he just might be capable of getting as "down and dirty" as the DemocRATS. And, I must say, it's kinda refreshing to see a Pubbie who will not bend over for the street-wise Dems like most Republicans do. Maybe there are some 'nads inside the "Magic Underwear".

Ya know it was only a matter of time until the republicans demanded their party vote for another liberal.

Well, it’s our (Conservatives) fault:

#1. Conservatives can’t get their sh** together.
#2. No good Conservatives run for Prez (Palin, DeMint, Ryan...).
#3. There is always one Moderate to 5 Conservatives who divide the vote and the Moderate wins.

No one to blame but us. JUST DAMN!!!

“You might want to throw in a little bit of the Beatitudes of Christ in your theology.”

That is there too. but if anything the hard things are ignored.

“Have a happy Resurrection Day!!!”

And you and yours, as well.

My bad. You are correct. The article I read was ambiguous; sounded like 14 million in the U.S. But, you don’t have to be over 18 to pass out literature, put out yard signs, etc. I read one place, where Mormons all over the world would be sending money to the U.S. for his campaign if RINO-Rom is the GOP nominee.

I'm not. It's my opinion the entire electoral process has been undermined corrupted and compromised years ago. Too much money/special interests involved.

I would not worry if Romney and Mormons are pro US or not. Remember, Mormons are an American grown religion. Most others were brought in by immigrants from Europe and world.

About the money you are correct, hadn’t thought about that.
SLC will do what they can to support Romney and they have billions.

I STILL DON’T WANT Mitt Romney as President. HOPE he loses!

I see. So, were you for Obama in ‘08 as well? I’d vote for a 3-legged, sh** eating dog before I’d vote for Obama, but do what you gotta do.

Are you saying you don't want them campaigning?

If they don't, you can bet the Catholics won't, nor Protestants, and not even the secular section of America. Point being - it's all hands on deck if we are going to close the door on the Obama powerful regime in November.

RE: "I would not worry if Romney and Mormons are pro US or not. Remember, Mormons are an American grown religion. Most others were brought in by immigrants from Europe and world."

I was remiss in not remembering that I am a geezer well into my 70s. Not everyone knows that Rockefeller-Scranton Republicans is "code" for internationalists -- at least IMO as I recall the 1964 election.

I had no idea that what I typed in would be thought a disparagement of Mormons. That was not my intent.

My God, do you people think it’s just about the person behind the desk? Does the names Bill Ayers, George Soros, Cass Sunstein, Van Jones, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and the rest of the communist loving radicals he surrounds himself with and admires mean anything to you?

Blacks for the black, mormons for the mormon, latinos for the latino, etc., etc.

Yep, just what this country needs more of.

....Liberals for Liberals, Conservatives for Conservatives, Evangelicals for Evangelicals, SoCons for SoCons......

Yep; amazing isn’t it how people vote for a member of a group they identify with. If that ain’t the damndest thing.

From your homepage: "I am a Ronald Reagan style Republican who votes morality over money."

Now, tell us how you reconcile voting for Romney with that statement.

So, were you for Obama in ‘08 as well?

I voted for McCain, Dole and Bush 41 twice. I will not, however, vote for Romney.

Bill Clinton has a more conservative record than Romney and isn't any bigger a liar or flip-flopper. And, you think it moves conservatism forward by voting for someone like that?

Romney vs. Obama isn't about right or wrong or conservatism or liberalism. It's simply Republican vs. Democrat.

And, help put an equal disgrace in that will set back the conservative movement at least decade. Brilliant!

Hell no? How, out of 50 posts to this thread are you the only one who came up with that idea? I don’t care if a spaceship from Mars lands with 2 million aliens to campaign for ANYBODY BUT OBAMA!!!

In that case, all 14 million of them can vote for him. He’s sure not getting me.

What’s “amazing” is that some are incapable of differentiating between a values based identity derived from morals originating with the Constitution and the Bible vs. the color of a person’s skin or their religion as an “identity”.

Voting for or supporting someone solely because they’re the same skin color or religion is what I was referring to.

That’s “identity politics” as I understand it.

YMMV
