President Barack Obama on Friday showered attention on helping women yet warned in the same motion that they should not be reduced to a uniform political bloc, declaring they are not an interest group and "shouldn't be treated that way."

The reason he declared women shouldn't be treated as an interest group was, of course, to pander to their vanity, and thus reinforce them as an interest group of women who refuse to be seen as an interest group.
