A few days ago the benches cleared during a game between Yavapai Community College and Scottsdale Community College in the top of the ninth, and even though the fight only involved a bit of jawing, chest puffing, and no punches thrown at all, that didnt stop one Yavapai player from destroying an unsuspecting baserunner with the mother of all cheap shots.
While the two teams hurl profanities at each other following an incident down the first base line, the Scottsdale player standing on second surveys the scene, not knowing hes about to get leveled by the charging Yavapai left fielder.
And does he ever get leveled.
It takes a while, but the Scottsdale player eventually leaves the field under his own power, while the instigator of the attack seems to have gotten away with a cheap shot for the ages. Hopefully these two teams meet again, after the Scottsdale team has viewed this soon-to-be viral clip, and that scumbag cheap shot artist gets a well placed fastball in and around his head and/or groin.
Totally uncalled for. Not the cheap shot, but rather the choice of Who Let the Dogs Out by the Baha Men for the benches clearing musical interlude. Didnt congress pass a law to ban that song from being played at sporting events? If not, they probably should.
you can tell what number the LF was after he came back into the video...went to the school's baseball team link and this is the a-hole:
O'Such, Austin 24 Freshman OF 6'2" 220 Los Altos, California punk!
Warning: Microsoft Security Essentials gave me a virus alert when I hit your link.
McAfee, too.
Darn, I have Security Essentials and did not get an alert.
The charge would be “assault and battery” (battery is for an illegal touching.
He should be banned from college sports and thrown out of school.
A nice lawsuit for assault and battery would also help clean his clock (or his parents’ bank account).
There is no place in sports for this POS.
He was suspended according to this report on 4-4-12.

The perp should be dropped from the team, expelled from college, and have felony charges filed against him.
Here is a collection of cheap shots from ONE high school basketball game.

I wonder if he collected a bounty.

Update:
On Saturday, Yavapai College Athletic Director Scott Farnsworth released the following statement through the college’s website:
Axed: Austin O’Such has been suspended from both the league and Yavapai College over the hit against Scottsdale
He said: ‘Yavapai College and the Athletic Department aspire to the ideals of good sportsmanship and fair play. In no way do we condone the behavior as recorded in the video, which occurred on March 29, 2012 at the Yavapai versus Scottsdale Community College baseball game.
‘The YC player involved was immediately suspended by the college and will be suspended from play for the rest of the season. The college has implemented this action and will continue to work with the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) on current and future sanctions following conference procedures.
