(CBS) The legal team for George Zimmerman is asking the public to withhold judgment about the fatal Trayvon Martin shooting pending a grand jury review of the case that begins next Tuesday.

Attorney Craig Sonner told 'CBS This Morning' correspondent Anna Werner, "Everyone is jumping the gun, wait, everyone wait...and then let's see what happens."
New Zimmerman lawyer Hal Uhrig told CBS News there's been too much emphasis on race in discussions surrounding the deadly Feb. 26 shooting in Sanford, Fla.
"This is not a guy who has a racial bone in his body," Uhrig said. "Take out issues of race, take out political preferences and so forth, just look at the law and what actually happened - this was a fairly simple but tragic case of self-defense."
Sonner said Zimmerman, who is staying at an undisclosed location and hasn't been seen publicly since the shooting, is "very stressed. This whole incident he has taken it very heard. He's in hiding he can't show his face anywhere because of the death threats against him."
Zimmerman's father came to his defense last night on the "Sean Hannity Show," saying his son's story will stand up to an examination.
"Ninety-five percent of the facts that have been verified by Sanford, the city of Sanford, they say that George's story is consistent with every eyewitness account and every piece of evidence that they have," Robert Zimmerman said.
Earlier this week, Benjamin Crump, the attorney for Trayvon Martin's parents, asked the justice department to investigate why the Sanford police chief and a state prosecutor apparently dismissed the recommendation of lead detective Chris Serino who wanted to arrest George Zimmerman for manslaughter.
"How was this decision made? That's all they want to know, they want the right to have answers, because right now George Zimmerman is free and their son is in a grave," Crump said.
Depends on whether they are objective about the evidence. Or objective about the political agenda.
The Feds can’t wait either. I’d bet money they’ve already done the paperwork to file a civil rights case.
The closer we get to the grand jury, the more positive the news articles about Zimmerman become.
More moonwalking.
I think the feds hit a wall when it turned out that Zimmerman was a hispanic, or rather white-hispanic sort of like our white-black president.
A recent thread said they are not pressing charges:

The special prosecuter said she might decide this without a grand jury. If the April 10 date passes without the case being before them, I’d think the special prosecuter would need to make some kind of statement. There’s a lot of people anxiously awaiting this grand jury and the April 10 date.
I’d be surprised if the State of Florida proceeds with this case.
Gosh! That's good to know. Guess I'd better check my ammo stockpile and stop by Turner's Hunting Goods on my way home tomorrow night ... just in case; you never know ... Holder's people just might declare a Federal moratorium on all new sales starting this coming Tuesday.
Like my dad always said, “Never bring skittles and a coke to a gun fight!”
Pray for America
... and shooting from the hip ....
Obama needs some sort of distraction so this case can go down the memory hole. Perhaps North Korea will come through for him and nuke Alaska or something.
I wonder if that statements will still be true after the civil rights industry gets through with Mr. Zimmerman?
The feds get the riots they want by NOT filing civil rights charges.
Everyone keeps asserting that they will file civil rights charges but what exactly can they charge him with? If he is not charged at all due to justifiable self defense, then he has committed no crime. If he has committed no crime then what is the basis for the civil rights beef?
The only tragedy I see is the race pimps coming out full force in support of that thug, Trayvon Martin.
If Florida’s like most states, manslaughter is a bailable offense, which makes Crump’s argument nonsense because Zimmerman would be out walking around anyway.
“this was a fairly simple but tragic case of self-defense.”
Tragic would have been Martin murdering Zimmerman.
As the officers in the Rodney King case discovered, the Feds are not bound by the state criminal court decision. Nor does double jeopardy apply.
