Convicting him is up to a jury of his peers. She can try hard to convict, but it’s not up to her, any more than his defense attorney can guarantee an acquital. It sounds to me like she’s going through the motions to satisfy the race hustlers, but does not expect a conviction. Otherwise, she would have used a grand jury and indicted him along with the proverbial ham sandwich who’s next on the docket. She skipped the grand jury because she didn’t think they’d charge him with murder. If he’s charged, it either goes to trial or plea bargain. If it goes to trial, the witnesses get called up to publicly testify and be cross-examined, something that would not happen in a grand jury. My gut feeling is that she wants the witnesses to testify publicly.

Manslaughter. Conviction. Bank on it.

There is zero evidence to even charge him...but now Zimmerman gets to play PC Roulette. He’s going to lose.

The state doesn't have any witnesses that claim Zimmerman was in any way in the wrong. What's the state gonna do, put on a set of witnesses that saw Zimmerman getting beat up?

All of the witnesses that suggest Martin was screaming, etc. didn't and couldn't see anything. Hardly the sort of basis one would want to have as a "star witness" for the prosecution!

The foresnic evidence favors Zimmerman's account, too.
