There’s only one thing to focus on: the cell phones.
BOTH Martin and Zimmerman were on cell phones when they were watching each other. BOTH told their respective parties (Martin his girlfriend, who testified as to his statements, and Zimmerman to the police) that they had LOST each other.
At that point, the incident was OVER.
HOWEVER - Zimmerman did NOT know where Martin was, because Martin ran away.
BUT MARTIN KNEW WHERE ZIMMERMAN WAS, BECAUSE HE WAS WALKING ABCK TO HIS CAR.
Therefore Martin - and ONLY Martin - must have attacked Zimmerman, because only Martin could - because he knew where Zimmerman was, and Zimmerman didn not know where Martin was.
So - Martin was free to leave, and did not, and instead circled back around and attacked Zimmerman.
End of case.
Excellent point. It’s definitely clear from GZ’s 911 call that he didn’t know where Martin was - which would make it impossible for him to attack Martin.
At one point I think GZ’s dad questioned whether Trayvon actually was on the phone with his girlfriend. Made me wonder if there is any evidence besides her testimony (which has discrepancies in it, as another poster on this thread mentioned) that proves he was on the phone with her.
I hesitated to put anything about Trayvon having gone to the store to get Skittles also, because although that’s the story we’ve been told by the Trayvon people, as far as I know the police haven’t confirmed that they found any of those items on Trayvon.
The paragraph about Trayvon’s school suspensions is somewhat confusing too - partly because the stories seemed mixed-up. The Martins’ lawyer referred to 3 suspensions but would only talk about 2 of them, and it wasn’t clear which one was the latest one. A lot of discrepancies in all of it.
