This is one depressing thread. I thought most Freepers were Christians. We seem to have it backward, putting country before God. I don’t have to pray about whether to vote for Romney. I have to stand before God, my father. My father! I know how He feels about abortion. I cannot stand before God having voted for someone with the blood of abortion on his hands without thus having partaken with him. I fear God too much to do that. The thought of doing that makes me literally tremble. Then there is the sin of homosexual sex and Romney’s tacit approval of it by supporting gay marriage. If others don’t fear God enough and vote for a Romney, and there seems to be enough in this country, then we deserve the judgement handed to us via our government. We’ve become a post-Christian nation. Whatever befalls our nation, I know wherein lies my trust and who it is that takes care of me. I’ll stay under the shadow of God’s wings. For me, voting for Romney is akin to walking away from God. Newt may have some baggage, but so did King David. Newt has publicly expressed repentance. I believe if he is sincere, as he seems to be by his contriteness and testimony, that God has forgiven him just as He did King David.
I agree. We're never going to convince the RomneyBots and conservative quislings, and they're going to fail miserably trying to frighten us into voting for their boy Romney.
Thanks for your post and your sound Biblical logic. Allow me to add this reference. Remember when the Lord had Gideon send most of the army home? That’s what I feel like here.
I won’t stand at the bema seat someday and have to answer for voting for a pro-choice candidate.
